8 [a]Be sober, and watch: for (A)your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist steadfast in the faith, [b]knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your [c]brethren which are in the world.

- 1 Peter 5:8 The cruelty of Satan, who seeketh by all means to devour us, is overcome by watchfulness and faith.
