1 Peter 2:23-25
GOD’S WORD Translation
23 Christ never verbally abused those who verbally abused him. When he suffered, he didn’t make any threats but left everything to the one who judges fairly. 24 Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross so that freed from our sins, we could live a life that has God’s approval. His wounds have healed you. 25 You were like lost sheep. Now you have come back to the shepherd and bishop of your lives.

23 When they hurled their insults at him,(A) he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats.(B) Instead, he entrusted himself(C) to him who judges justly.(D) 24 “He himself bore our sins”(E) in his body on the cross,(F) so that we might die to sins(G) and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”(H) 25 For “you were like sheep going astray,”[a](I) but now you have returned to the Shepherd(J) and Overseer of your souls.(K)
