⁹ And they will say, ‘^(A)Because they forsook Yahweh their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and took hold of other gods and worshiped them and served them, therefore Yahweh has brought all this calamity on them.’”

^18 (A)Did not your fathers do the same, so our God brought on us and on this city all this calamity? Yet you are adding to His anger on Israel by profaning the sabbath.”

² “Thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, ‘You yourselves have seen all the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem and all the cities of Judah; and behold, this day they are a ^(A)waste place and no one lives in them

¹¹ Indeed ^(A)all Israel has trespassed against Your law, even turning aside, not listening to Your voice; so the ^(B)curse has been poured out on us, along with the oath which is written in the ^[a]law of Moses the ^[b]servant of God, for we have sinned against Him. ¹² Thus He has ^(C)established His words which He had spoken against us and against our ^(D)judges who judged us, to bring on us great calamity; for under the whole heaven there has ^(E)not been done anything like what was done to Jerusalem.
