²⁹ And ^(A)God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of understanding in his heart, ^(B)like the sand that is on the seashore. ³⁰ And Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all ^(C)the sons of the east and ^(D)all the wisdom of Egypt. ³¹ And ^(E)he was wiser than all men, than ^(F)Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, ^(G)Calcol, and ^[a]Darda, the sons of Mahol; and the renown of his name was in all the surrounding nations.

^12 (A)Now Yahweh gave wisdom to Solomon, just as He ^[a]promised him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them cut a covenant.

^23 (A)So King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. ²⁴ And all the earth was seeking the presence of Solomon, ^(B)to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.

¹⁶ I spoke within my heart, saying, “Behold, I have magnified and increased ^(A)wisdom more than all who were over Jerusalem before me; and my heart has seen an abundance of wisdom and knowledge.”
