21 Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said, ‘I will [a]entice him.’ 22 And the Lord said to him, ‘How?’ And he said, ‘I will go out and (A)be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.’ Then He said, ‘You shall [b]entice him, and you will also prevail. Go and do so.’ 23 Now then, behold, (B)the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours; and the Lord has declared disaster against you.”

22 “‘By what means?’ the Lord asked.

“‘I will go out and be a deceiving(A) spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said.

“‘You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the Lord. ‘Go and do it.’

23 “So now the Lord has put a deceiving(B) spirit in the mouths of all these prophets(C) of yours. The Lord has decreed disaster(D) for you.”
