¹⁵ Then he came to the king, and the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we refrain?” And he said to him, “^(A)Go up and succeed, and Yahweh will give it into the hand of the king.” ¹⁶ Then the king said to him, “How many times must I make you swear that you will speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Yahweh?”

¹¹ But Jehoshaphat said, “^(A)Is there not a prophet of Yahweh here, that we may inquire of Yahweh by him?” And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, “^(B)Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, ^(C)who used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.” ¹² And Jehoshaphat said, “The word of Yahweh is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

Jeremiah’s Message for Zedekiah

21 The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh when ^(A)King Zedekiah sent to him ^(B)Pashhur, the son of Malchijah, and ^(C)Zephaniah the priest, the son of Maaseiah, saying, ² “Please ^(D)inquire of Yahweh on our behalf, for ^[a](E)Nebuchadnezzar king of ^(F)Babylon is warring against us; perhaps Yahweh will deal with us ^(G)according to all His ^[b]wonderful acts, so that the enemy will go up from us.”

³ Yet ^(A)King Zedekiah sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and ^(B)Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, to Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “^(C)Please pray to Yahweh our God on our behalf.”
