³⁹ But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but ^(A)whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

² And the high priest ^(A)Ananias commanded those standing beside him ^(B)to strike him on the mouth. ³ Then Paul said to him, “God is going to strike you, ^(C)you whitewashed wall! Do you ^(D)sit to try me according to the Law, and in violation of the Law order me to be struck?”
