44 The king also said to Shimei, “(A)You yourself know all the evil that [a]you acknowledge in your heart, which you did to my father David; therefore (B)the Lord will return your evil on your own head. 45 But King Solomon will be blessed, and (C)the throne of David will be established before the Lord forever.” 46 (D)So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and he went out and [b]struck him so that he died.
(E)And the kingdom was established in the hands of Solomon.

44 The king also said to Shimei, “You know in your heart all the wrong(A) you did to my father David. Now the Lord will repay you for your wrongdoing. 45 But King Solomon will be blessed, and David’s throne will remain secure(B) before the Lord forever.”
46 Then the king gave the order to Benaiah(C) son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck Shimei(D) down and he died.
The kingdom was now established(E) in Solomon’s hands.
