1 Kings 18:36-38
New Living Translation
36 At the usual time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,[a] prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command. 37 O Lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.”
38 Immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench!

- 18:36 Hebrew and Israel. The names “Jacob” and “Israel” are often interchanged throughout the Old Testament, referring sometimes to the individual patriarch and sometimes to the nation.

New International Version
36 At the time(A) of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “Lord, the God of Abraham,(B) Isaac and Israel, let it be known(C) today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.(D) 37 Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know(E) that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”
38 Then the fire(F) of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.
