¹⁸ And he said, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, because ^(A)you have forsaken the commandments of Yahweh and ^(B)you have followed the Baals.

¹¹ So I ^(A)contended against the officials and said, “^(B)Why is the house of God forsaken?” Then I gathered them together and had them stand in their posts.

Keep the Sabbath Day Holy

¹⁵ In those days I saw in Judah some who were treading wine presses ^(A)on the sabbath, and bringing in sacks of grain and loading them on donkeys, as well as wine, grapes, figs and all kinds of loads, ^(B)and they brought them into Jerusalem on the sabbath day. So ^(C)I testified against them on the day they sold food.

⁷ But when he saw many of the ^(A)Pharisees and ^(B)Sadducees coming for his baptism, he said to them, “You ^(C)brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from ^(D)the wrath to come?

⁴ For John had been saying to him, “^(A)It is not lawful for you to have her.”

^11 (A)And do not participate in the unfruitful ^(B)works of ^(C)darkness, but instead even ^[a](D)expose them.
