³ “Go away from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is ^[a]east of the Jordan.

⁴ And it happened that ^(A)when Jezebel was cutting down the prophets of Yahweh, Obadiah took one hundred prophets and hid them by fifties in a cave, and ^(B)sustained them with bread and water.)

^10 (A)As Yahweh your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my master has not sent to search for you; and if they said, ‘He is not here,’ he made the kingdom or nation swear that they could not find you.

²⁰ Indeed, there was also a man who prophesied in the name of Yahweh, Uriah the son of Shemaiah from ^(A)Kiriath-jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land words similar to all those of Jeremiah. ²¹ And King Jehoiakim and all his mighty men and all the officials heard his words. So the ^(B)king sought to put him to death; but Uriah heard it, and he was afraid and ^(C)fled and went to Egypt. ²² Then King Jehoiakim sent men to Egypt: ^(D)Elnathan the son of Achbor and certain men with him went into Egypt. ²³ And they brought Uriah out from Egypt and led him to King Jehoiakim, who ^(E)struck him down with a sword and cast his dead body into the ^[a]burial place of the ^[b]common people.

²⁴ But the hand of ^(F)Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, so that he was ^(G)not given into the hands of the people to put him to death.

²⁶ And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel to ^(A)take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet, but ^(B)Yahweh hid them.
