A Widow Sustains Elijah

17 Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of ^[a](A)the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “^(B)As Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, surely ^(C)there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”

Yahweh Appoints Four Kinds of Doom

15 Then Yahweh said to me, “Even ^(A)though ^(B)Moses and ^(C)Samuel were to ^(D)stand before Me, My soul would not be ^[a]with this people; ^(E)send them away from My presence and let them go!

¹⁹ therefore thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, “Jonadab the son of Rechab ^(A)shall not have a man cut off from ^(B)standing before Me ^[a]always.”’”
