6 There had been war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of Rehoboam’s life.(A) 7 The rest of the events of Abijam’s reign, along with all his accomplishments, are written in the Historical Record of Judah’s Kings.(B) There was also war between Abijam and Jeroboam.(C) 8 Abijam rested with his fathers and was buried in the city of David.(D) His son Asa became king in his place.(E)

New International Version
6 There was war(A) between Abijah[a] and Jeroboam throughout Abijah’s lifetime. 7 As for the other events of Abijah’s reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? There was war between Abijah and Jeroboam. 8 And Abijah rested with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David. And Asa his son succeeded him as king.
