³⁸ In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in all its details^(A) according to its specifications.^(B) He had spent seven years building it.

⁹ “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation^(A) of this temple; his hands will also complete it.^(B) Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me^(C) to you.

Solomon Builds His Palace

7 It took Solomon thirteen years, however, to complete the construction of his palace.^(A)

²⁰ They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?”

¹³ It is he who will build the temple of the Lord, and he will be clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he^[a] will be a priest^(A) on his throne. And there will be harmony between the two.’ ¹⁴ The crown will be given to Heldai,^[b] Tobijah, Jedaiah and Hen^[c] son of Zephaniah as a memorial^(B) in the temple of the Lord. ¹⁵ Those who are far away will come and help to build the temple of the Lord,^(C) and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.^(D) This will happen if you diligently obey^(E) the Lord your God.”
