¹² The Lord gave Solomon wisdom,^(A) just as he had promised him. There were peaceful relations between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty.^(B)

¹² I will do what you have asked.^(A) I will give you a wise^(B) and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.

⁹ This is what the Lord says:

⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,^(A) who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.^(B)

¹² therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor,^(A) such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.^(B)”
