²¹I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

²¹I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it^(A) and because no lie comes from the truth.

2 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

2 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.^(A)

³²And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
