1 John 2:2-6
New American Standard Bible
2 and He Himself is (A)the [a]propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also (B)for the sins of the whole world.
3 (C)By this we know that we have come to (D)know Him, if we (E)keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, “(F)I have come to (G)know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a (H)liar, and (I)the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever (J)follows His word, in him the (K)love of God has truly been perfected. (L)By this we know that we are in Him: 6 the one who says that he (M)remains in Him (N)ought, himself also, walk just as He walked.

3 We know(C) that we have come to know him(D) if we keep his commands.(E) 4 Whoever says, “I know him,”(F) but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.(G) 5 But if anyone obeys his word,(H) love for God[a] is truly made complete in them.(I) This is how we know(J) we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.(K)
