1 John 1:9-2:3
New King James Version
9 If we (A)confess our sins, He is (B)faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to (C)cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we (D)make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
The Test of Knowing Christ
2 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, (E)we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And (F)He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but (G)also for the whole world.
The Test of Knowing Him
3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.

2 My dear children,(F) I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate(G) with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins,(H) and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.(I)
