¹⁶^(A)Surely you know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you!

1 Corinthians 3:16

New International Version

¹⁶Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple^(A) and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?^(B)

¹⁶^(A)How can God's temple come to terms with pagan idols? For we are the temple of the living God! As God himself has said,

“I will make my home with my people
and live among them;
I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.”

¹⁶What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?^(A) For we are the temple^(B) of the living God.^(C) As God has said:

“I will live with them
and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”^[a]^(D)
