1 Corinthians 15:54-57

⁵⁴When this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then the saying that is written shall come to pass: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”^[a]

⁵⁵“O death, where is your sting?
O grave, where is your victory?”^[b]

⁵⁶The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. ⁵⁷But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

⁵⁴When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”^[a]^(A)

⁵⁵“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”^[b]^(B)

⁵⁶The sting of death is sin,^(C) and the power of sin is the law.^(D) ⁵⁷But thanks be to God!^(E) He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.^(F)
