The Resurrection Body

35 But someone will ask,(A) “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”(B) 36 How foolish!(C) What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.(D) 37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else.

35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:

37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

51 Listen, I tell you a mystery:(A) We will not all sleep,(B) but we will all be changed(C) 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound,(D) the dead(E) will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable(F) must clothe itself with the imperishable,(G) and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”[a](H)

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
