12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead,(A) how can some of you say that there is no resurrection(B) of the dead?(C)

16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.(A) 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep(B) in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.(C)
20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead,(D) the firstfruits(E) of those who have fallen asleep.(F)
