1 Corinthians 14:11-13
New American Standard Bible
11 So if I do not know the meaning of the language, I will be (A)unintelligible to the one who speaks, and the one who speaks will be unintelligible [a]to me. 12 So you too, since you are eager to possess [b]spiritual gifts, strive to excel for the (B)edification of the church.
13 Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue is to pray that he may interpret.

11 If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and the speaker is a foreigner to me.(A) 12 So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit,(B) try to excel in those that build up(C) the church.
13 For this reason the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that they may interpret what they say.(D)
