3 (A)If I give away all I have, and (B)if I deliver up my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 (C)Love is patient and (D)kind; love (E)does not envy or boast; it (F)is not arrogant 5 or rude. It (G)does not insist on its own way; it (H)is not irritable or resentful;[b]

3 If I give all I possess to the poor(A) and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[a](B) but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient,(C) love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.(D) 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,(E) it is not easily angered,(F) it keeps no record of wrongs.(G)
