1 Corinthians 15:54-57

New Living Translation

⁵⁴Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die,^[a] this Scripture will be fulfilled:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.^[b]
⁵⁵O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?^[c]”

⁵⁶For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. ⁵⁷But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁵⁴When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”^[a]^(A)

⁵⁵“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”^[b]^(B)

⁵⁶The sting of death is sin,^(C) and the power of sin is the law.^(D) ⁵⁷But thanks be to God!^(E) He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.^(F)
