Hebrews 10:4-12
New Living Translation
4 For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 That is why, when Christ[a] came into the world, he said to God,
“You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings.
But you have given me a body to offer.
6 You were not pleased with burnt offerings
or other offerings for sin.
7 Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God—
as is written about me in the Scriptures.’”[b]
8 First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses). 9 Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. 10 For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.
11 Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. 12 But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats(A) to take away sins.(B)
5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world,(C) he said:
“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but a body you prepared for me;(D)
6 with burnt offerings and sin offerings
you were not pleased.
7 Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll(E)—
I have come to do your will, my God.’”[a](F)
8 First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”(G)—though they were offered in accordance with the law. 9 Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.”(H) He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy(I) through the sacrifice of the body(J) of Jesus Christ once for all.(K)
11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices,(L) which can never take away sins.(M) 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins,(N) he sat down at the right hand of God,(O)

Hebrews 9:22-28
New Living Translation
22 In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
23 That is why the Tabernacle and everything in it, which were copies of things in heaven, had to be purified by the blood of animals. But the real things in heaven had to be purified with far better sacrifices than the blood of animals.
24 For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf. 25 And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal. 26 If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age[a] to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice.
27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, 28 so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.

22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood,(A) and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.(B)
23 It was necessary, then, for the copies(C) of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one;(D) he entered heaven itself,(E) now to appear for us in God’s presence.(F) 25 Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place(G) every year with blood that is not his own.(H) 26 Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world.(I) But he has appeared(J) once for all(K) at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.(L) 27 Just as people are destined to die once,(M) and after that to face judgment,(N) 28 so Christ was sacrificed once(O) to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time,(P) not to bear sin,(Q) but to bring salvation(R) to those who are waiting for him.(S)
