^31 (A)Now these are those whom David caused to stand over the service of song in the house of Yahweh, ^(B)after the ark rested there. ³² And they ministered with song before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, until Solomon had built the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem; and they stood for their service according to their custom.

⁴¹ And with them were ^(A)Heman and Jeduthun, and ^(B)the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to ^(C)give thanks to Yahweh, because His lovingkindness endures forever. ⁴² And with them were Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those who should sound aloud, and with instruments for ^(D)the songs of God, and the sons of Jeduthun for the gate.

^43 (E)Then all the people went each to his house, and David returned to bless his household.

Number and Services of Musicians

25 Moreover, David and the commanders of the army separated for the service some of the sons of ^(A)Asaph and of Heman and of Jeduthun, who were to ^(B)prophesy with lyres, ^(C)harps, and cymbals; and the number of ^[a]those who performed their service was:

⁵ All these were the sons of Heman ^(E)the king’s seer to ^[j]exalt him according to the words of God. So God gave fourteen sons and three daughters to Heman. ⁶ All these were under the ^[k]direction of their father to sing in the house of Yahweh, ^(F)with cymbals, harps, and lyres, for the service of the house of God. ^(G)Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the ^[l]direction of the king. ⁷ And their number who were trained in singing to Yahweh, with their ^[m]relatives, all who were skillful, was ^(H)288.
