40 They found good, rich pasture, and the land was spacious, quiet, and peaceful. The people who had lived there previously were descended from Ham. 41 These who have been named came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah and attacked the tent camps of the Hamites. They completely destroyed the Meunites who were found there, and to this day they have lived in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks there. 42 Some of them, five hundred men, also descendants of Simeon, went to Mount Seir. Their leaders were Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

New International Version
40 They found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful and quiet.(A) Some Hamites had lived there formerly.
41 The men whose names were listed came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. They attacked the Hamites in their dwellings and also the Meunites(B) who were there and completely destroyed[a] them, as is evident to this day. Then they settled in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks. 42 And five hundred of these Simeonites, led by Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, invaded the hill country of Seir.(C)
