3 The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah; which three were born to him of Shua’s daughter the Canaanitess. Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in Yahweh’s[a] sight; and he killed him. 4 Tamar his daughter-in-law bore him Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five. 5 The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.

Er, Onan and Shelah.(C) These three were born to him by a Canaanite woman, the daughter of Shua.(D) Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death.(E) 4 Judah’s daughter-in-law(F) Tamar(G) bore Perez(H) and Zerah to Judah. He had five sons in all.
