²¹ When he was 60 years old, Hezron married the daughter of Makir. Makir was the father of Gilead. Hezron slept with his wife, and she had Segub by him.

²² Segub was the father of Jair. Jair controlled 23 towns in Gilead.

²³ But Geshur and Aram captured Havvoth Jair. They also captured Kenath and the settlements around it. The total number of towns captured was 60.
