1 Chronicles 18:5-7

5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king (A)of Zobah, David struck down 22,000 men of the Syrians. 6 Then David put garrisons[a] in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became servants to David and brought tribute. And the Lord gave victory to David[b] wherever he went. 7 And David took the shields of gold that were carried by the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.

1 Chronicles 18:5-7
New International Version
5 When the Arameans of Damascus(A) came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck down twenty-two thousand of them. 6 He put garrisons in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to him and brought him tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.
7 David took the gold shields carried by the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.
