32 Also Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, a man of understanding, and a scribe; and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni [a]tutored the king’s sons. 33 (A)Ahithophel was counselor to the king; and (B)Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend. 34 Jehoiada the son of (C)Benaiah, and (D)Abiathar [b]succeeded Ahithophel; and Joab was the (E)commander of the king’s army.

New International Version
32 Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, a man of insight and a scribe. Jehiel son of Hakmoni took care of the king’s sons.
33 Ahithophel(A) was the king’s counselor.
Hushai(B) the Arkite was the king’s confidant. 34 Ahithophel was succeeded by Jehoiada son of Benaiah and by Abiathar.(C)
Joab(D) was the commander of the royal army.
