^11 (A)Seek the Lord and his strength;
    seek his presence continually!

⁸ You have said, ^(A)“Seek^[a] my face.”
My heart says to you,
    “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”^{[b]
9     (B)}Hide not your face from me.
Turn not your servant away in anger,
    O you who have been my help.
Cast me not off; forsake me not,
    ^(C)O God of my salvation!

^2 (A)before the decree takes effect^[a]
    —before the day passes away ^(B)like chaff—
^(C)before there comes upon you
    the burning anger of the Lord,
before there comes upon you
    the day of the anger of the Lord.
^3 (D)Seek the Lord, ^(E)all you humble of the land,
    who do his just commands;^[b]
(F)seek righteousness; seek humility;
    ^(G)perhaps ^(H)you may be hidden
    on the day of the anger of the Lord.

^35 (A)Awesome is God from his^{[a] (B)}sanctuary;
    the God of Israel—he is the one who gives ^(C)power and strength to his people.
