Psalm 42:4-5

New International Version

⁴These things I remember
    as I pour out my soul:^(A)
how I used to go to the house of God^(B)
    under the protection of the Mighty One^[a]
with shouts of joy^(C) and praise^(D)
    among the festive throng.^(E)

⁵Why, my soul, are you downcast?^(F)
    Why so disturbed^(G) within me?
Put your hope in God,^(H)
    for I will yet praise^(I) him,
    my Savior^(J) and my God.^(K)

¹You, God, are my God,

in a dry and parched land

²I have seen you in the sanctuary^(C)
and beheld your power and your glory.^(D)
³Because your love is better than life,^(E)
my lips will glorify you.
