17 Og seks Dage derefter tager Jesus Peter og Jakob og hans Broder Johannes med sig og fører dem afsides op på et højt Bjerg. 2 Og han blev forvandlet for deres Øjne, og hans Åsyn skinnede som Solen, men hans Klæder bleve hvide som Lyset. 3 Og se, Moses og Elias viste sig for dem og samtalede med ham. 4 Da tog Peter til Orde og sagde til Jesus: "Herre! det er godt, at vi ere her; vil du, da lader os gøre tre Hytter her, dig en og Moses en og Elias en." 5 Medens han endnu talte, se, da overskyggede en lysende Sky dem; og se, der kom fra Skyen en Røst. som sagde: "Denne er min Søn. den elskede, i hvem jeg har Velbehag; hører ham!" 6 Og da Disciplene hørte det, faldt de på deres Ansigt og frygtede såre. 7 Og Jesus trådte hen og rørte ved dem og sagde: "Står op, og frygter ikke!" 8 Men da de opløftede deres Øjne, så de ingen uden Jesus alene. 9 Og da de gik ned fra Bjerget, bød Jesus dem og sagde: "Taler ikke til nogen om dette Syn, førend Menneskesønnen er oprejst fra de døde."
10 Og hans Disciple spurgte ham og sagde: "Hvad er det da, de skriftkloge sige, at Elias bør først komme?" 11 Og han svarede og sagde: "Vel kommer Elias og skal genoprette alting. 12 Men jeg siger eder, at Elias er allerede kommen, og de erkendte ham ikke, men gjorde med ham alt, hvad de vilde; således skal også Menneskesønnen lide ondt af dem." 13 Da forstode Disciplene, at han havde talt til dem om Johannes Døberen.
14 Og da de kom til Folkeskaren, kom en Mand til ham og faldt på Knæ for ham og sagde: 15 "Herre! forbarm dig over min Søn, thi han er månesyg og lidende; thi han falder ofte i Ild og ofte i Vand; 16 og jeg bragte ham til dine Disciple, og de kunde ikke helbrede ham." 17 Og Jesus svarede og sagde: "O du vantro og forvendte Slægt! hvor længe skal jeg være hos eder, hvor længe skal jeg tåle eder? Bringer mig ham hid!" 18 Og Jesus talte ham hårdt til, og den onde Ånd for ud af ham, og Drengen blev helbredt fra samme Time. 19 Da gik Disciplene til Jesus afsides og sagde: "Hvorfor kunde vi ikke uddrive den?" 20 Og han siger til dem: "For eders Vantros Skyld; thi sandelig, siger jeg eder, dersom I have Tro som et Sennepskorn, da kunne I sige til dette Bjerg: Flyt dig herfra derhen, så skal det flytte sig, og intet skal være eder umuligt. 21 Men denne Slags farer ikke ud uden ved Bøn og Faste."
22 Og medens de vandrede sammen i Galilæa, sagde Jesus til dem: "Menneskesønnen skal overgives i Menneskers Hænder; 23 og de skulle slå ham ihjel, og på den tredje Dag skal han oprejses." Og de bleve såre bedrøvede.
24 Men da de kom til Kapernaum, kom de, som opkrævede Tempelskatten, til Peter og sagde: "Betaler eders Mester ikke Skatten?" 25 Han sagde: "Jo." Og da han kom ind i Huset, kom Jesus ham i Forkøbet og sagde: "Hvad tykkes dig, Simon? Af hvem tage Jordens Konger Told eller Skat, af deres egne Sønner eller af de fremmede?" 26 Og da han sagde: "Af de fremmede," sagde Jesus til ham: "Så ere jo Sønnerne fri. 27 Men for at vi ikke skulle forarge dem, så gå hen til Søen, kast en Krog ud, og tag den første Fisk, som kommer op; og når du åbner dens Mund, skal du finde en Stater; tag denne, og giv dem den for mig og dig!"

17 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
14 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
22 And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:
23 And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.
27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

La transfiguración
17 (A)Seis días después, Jesús tomó* consigo a Pedro(B), a Jacobo[a] y a Juan su hermano, y los llevó* aparte a un monte alto; 2 y se transfiguró delante de ellos; y su rostro resplandeció como el sol, y sus vestiduras se volvieron blancas como la luz. 3 Y he aquí, se les aparecieron Moisés y Elías hablando con Él. 4 Entonces Pedro, tomando la palabra, dijo a Jesús: Señor, bueno es estarnos aquí; si quieres, haré aquí tres enramadas[b], una para ti, otra[c] para Moisés y otra[d] para Elías(C). 5 Mientras estaba aún hablando, he aquí, una nube luminosa los cubrió; y[e] una voz salió de la nube(D), diciendo: Este es mi Hijo amado(E) en quien me he complacido; a Él oíd. 6 Cuando los discípulos oyeron esto, cayeron sobre sus rostros y tuvieron gran temor. 7 Entonces se les acercó Jesús, y tocándolos, dijo: Levantaos y no temáis(F). 8 Y cuando alzaron sus ojos no vieron a nadie, sino a Jesús solo.
Elías y Juan el Bautista
9 (G)Mientras descendían del monte, Jesús les ordenó, diciendo: No contéis a nadie la visión(H) hasta que el Hijo del Hombre(I) haya resucitado de entre los muertos(J). 10 Y sus discípulos le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué, pues, dicen los escribas que Elías(K) debe venir primero? 11 Y respondiendo Él, dijo: Elías ciertamente viene, y restaurará todas las cosas; 12 pero yo os digo que Elías ya vino y no lo reconocieron, sino que le hicieron[f] todo lo que quisieron. Así también el Hijo del Hombre(L) va a padecer a manos de ellos. 13 Entonces los discípulos entendieron que les había hablado de Juan el Bautista.
Jesús sana a un muchacho epiléptico
14 (M)Cuando llegaron a la multitud, se le acercó un hombre, que arrodillándose delante de Él, dijo: 15 Señor, ten misericordia de mi hijo, porque es epiléptico[g](N) y sufre terriblemente, porque muchas veces cae en el fuego y muchas en el agua. 16 Y lo traje a tus discípulos y ellos no pudieron curarlo. 17 Respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¡Oh generación incrédula y perversa! ¿Hasta cuándo estaré con vosotros? ¿Hasta cuándo os tendré que soportar? Traédmelo acá. 18 Y Jesús lo reprendió y el demonio salió de él, y el muchacho quedó curado desde aquel momento[h].
19 Entonces los discípulos, llegándose a Jesús en privado, dijeron: ¿Por qué nosotros no pudimos expulsarlo? 20 Y Él les dijo*: Por vuestra poca fe; porque en verdad os digo que si tenéis fe(O) como un grano de mostaza(P), diréis a este monte(Q): «Pásate de aquí allá», y se pasará; y nada os será imposible(R). 21 [i]Pero esta clase no sale sino con oración y ayuno(S).
Jesús anuncia otra vez su muerte
22 (T)Mientras andaban juntos por Galilea, Jesús les dijo: El Hijo del Hombre va a ser entregado en manos de los hombres. 23 Y le matarán, y al tercer día resucitará(U). Y ellos se entristecieron mucho.
Pago del impuesto del templo
24 Cuando llegaron a Capernaúm, se acercaron a Pedro los que cobraban el impuesto de dos dracmas[j](V) y dijeron: ¿No paga vuestro maestro las dos dracmas(W)? 25 Él dijo*: Sí. Y cuando él llegó a casa, Jesús se le anticipó[k], diciendo: ¿Qué te parece, Simón? ¿De quiénes cobran tributos(X) o impuestos(Y) los reyes de la tierra, de sus hijos o de los extraños? 26 Y cuando respondió: De los extraños, Jesús le dijo: Entonces los hijos están exentos[l]. 27 Sin embargo, para que no los escandalicemos[m](Z), ve al mar, echa el anzuelo, y toma el primer pez que salga[n]; y cuando le abras la boca hallarás un estáter[o]; tómalo y dáselo por ti y por mí.

The Transfiguration(A)(B)
17 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John(C) the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. 2 There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. 3 Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.
4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.(D) Listen to him!”(E)
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. 7 But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.”(F) 8 When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, “Don’t tell anyone(G) what you have seen, until the Son of Man(H) has been raised from the dead.”(I)
10 The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”
11 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things.(J) 12 But I tell you, Elijah has already come,(K) and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished.(L) In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer(M) at their hands.” 13 Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist.(N)
Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy(O)
14 When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures(P) and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. 16 I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”
17 “You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” 18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith(Q) as small as a mustard seed,(R) you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.(S) Nothing will be impossible for you.” [21] [a]
Jesus Predicts His Death a Second Time
22 When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, “The Son of Man(T) is going to be delivered into the hands of men. 23 They will kill him,(U) and on the third day(V) he will be raised to life.”(W) And the disciples were filled with grief.
The Temple Tax
24 After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax(X) came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”
25 “Yes, he does,” he replied.
When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes(Y)—from their own children or from others?”
26 “From others,” Peter answered.
“Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him. 27 “But so that we may not cause offense,(Z) go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”

A Boy Is Healed(O)
14 (P)And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is [c]an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”
17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O [d]faithless and (Q)perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus (R)rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”
20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your [e]unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, (S)if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 [f]However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Jesus Again Predicts His Death and Resurrection(T)
22 (U)Now while they were [g]staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, 23 and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up.” And they were exceedingly (V)sorrowful.
Peter and His Master Pay Their Taxes
24 (W)When they had come to [h]Capernaum, those who received the [i]temple tax came to Peter and said, “Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax?”
25 He said, “Yes.”
And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from (X)strangers?”
26 Peter said to Him, “From strangers.”
Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free. 27 Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a [j]piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.”
