Jeremiah 31:36-37

New International Version

³⁶“Only if these decrees^(A) vanish from my sight,”
declares the Lord,
“will Israel^(B) ever cease
being a nation before me.”

³⁷This is what the Lord says:

“Only if the heavens above can be measured^(C)
and the foundations of the earth below be searched out
will I reject^(D) all the descendants of Israel
because of all they have done,”
declares the Lord.

²⁵This is what the Lord says: ‘If I have not made my covenant with day and night^(A) and established the laws^(B) of heaven and earth,^(C) ²⁶then I will reject^(D) the descendants of Jacob^(E) and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
