Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All
10 Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the true form of these realities, it[a] can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered year after year, make perfect those who approach. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased being offered, since the worshipers, cleansed once for all, would no longer have any consciousness of sin? 3 But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sin year after year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 Consequently, when Christ[b] came into the world, he said,
“Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired,
but a body you have prepared for me;
6 in burnt offerings and sin offerings
you have taken no pleasure.
7 Then I said, ‘See, God, I have come to do your will, O God’
(in the scroll of the book[c] it is written of me).”
8 When he said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), 9 then he added, “See, I have come to do your will.” He abolishes the first in order to establish the second. 10 And it is by God’s will[d] that we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest stands day after day at his service, offering again and again the same sacrifices that can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ[e] had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, “he sat down at the right hand of God,” 13 and since then has been waiting “until his enemies would be made a footstool for his feet.” 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. 15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, says the Lord:
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds,”
17 he also adds,
“I will remember[f] their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”
18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

11 Mentre ogni sacerdote sta in piedi ogni giorno a svolgere il suo servizio e a offrire ripetutamente gli stessi sacrifici, che non possono mai togliere i peccati, 12 egli, dopo aver offerto un unico sacrificio per i peccati, e per sempre, si è seduto alla destra di Dio 13 e aspetta soltanto che i suoi nemici siano posti come sgabello dei suoi piedi. 14 Infatti con un’unica offerta egli ha reso perfetti per sempre quelli che sono santificati. 15 Anche lo Spirito Santo ce ne rende testimonianza. Infatti, dopo aver detto:
16 «Questo è il patto che farò con loro dopo quei giorni, dice il Signore, metterò le mie leggi nei loro cuori e le scriverò nelle loro menti[b]»[c], egli aggiunge[d]:
17 «Non mi ricorderò più dei loro peccati e delle loro iniquità»[e].
18 Ora, dove c’è perdono di queste cose, non c’è più bisogno di offerta per il peccato.

10 Denn weil das Gesetz nur einen Schatten der zukünftigen [Heils-] Güter hat, nicht die Gestalt der Dinge selbst, so kann es auch mit den gleichen alljährlichen Opfern, die man immer wieder darbringt, die Hinzutretenden niemals zur Vollendung[a] bringen.
2 Hätte man sonst nicht aufgehört, Opfer darzubringen, wenn die, welche den Gottesdienst verrichten, einmal gereinigt, kein Bewusstsein von Sünden mehr gehabt hätten?
3 Stattdessen geschieht durch diese [Opfer] alle Jahre eine Erinnerung an die Sünden.
4 Denn unmöglich kann das Blut von Stieren und Böcken Sünden hinwegnehmen!
5 Darum spricht er bei seinem Eintritt in die Welt: »Opfer und Gaben hast du nicht gewollt; einen Leib aber hast du mir bereitet.
6 An Brandopfern[b] und Sündopfern[c] hast du kein Wohlgefallen.
7 Da sprach ich: Siehe, ich komme — in der Buchrolle steht von mir geschrieben —, um deinen Willen, o Gott, zu tun!«[d]
8 Oben sagt er: »Opfer und Gaben, Brandopfer und Sündopfer hast du nicht gewollt, du hast auch kein Wohlgefallen an ihnen« — die ja nach dem Gesetz dargebracht werden —,
9 dann fährt er fort: »Siehe, ich komme, um deinen Willen, o Gott, zu tun«. [Somit] hebt er das Erste auf, um das Zweite einzusetzen.
10 Aufgrund dieses Willens sind wir geheiligt durch die Opferung[e] des Leibes Jesu Christi, [und zwar] ein für alle Mal.
11 Und jeder Priester steht da und verrichtet täglich den Gottesdienst und bringt oftmals dieselben Opfer dar, die doch niemals Sünden hinwegnehmen können;
12 Er aber hat sich, nachdem er ein einziges Opfer für die Sünden dargebracht hat, das für immer gilt, zur Rechten Gottes gesetzt,
13 und er wartet hinfort, bis seine Feinde als Schemel für seine Füße hingelegt werden.
14 Denn mit einem einzigen Opfer hat er die für immer vollendet, welche geheiligt werden.
15 Das bezeugt uns aber auch der Heilige Geist; denn nachdem zuvor gesagt worden ist:
16 »Das ist der Bund, den ich mit ihnen schließen will nach diesen Tagen, spricht der Herr: Ich will meine Gesetze in ihre Herzen geben und sie in ihre Sinne schreiben«,
17 sagt er auch: »An ihre Sünden und ihre Gesetzlosigkeiten will ich nicht mehr gedenken.«[f]
18 Wo aber Vergebung für diese ist, da gibt es kein Opfer mehr für Sünde.[g]

10 A Törvényben az eljövendő áldásoknak csupán az árnyéka van meg, nem pedig maguk a valóságos dolgok. Ez vonatkozik azokra az áldozatokra is, amelyeket a Törvény szerint évente újra meg újra be kell mutatni Istennek, mert ezek az áldozatok sohasem tudják tökéletessé tenni azokat, akik ilyen módon közelednek Istenhez. 2 Hiszen, ha a Törvény tökéletessé tette volna őket, már régen abbahagyták volna az áldozatokat! Akkor ugyanis azok, akik az áldozatokat bemutatták, egyszer s mindenkorra megtisztultak volna, és nem lenne többé bűntudatuk.
De nem ez a helyzet! 3 Éppen ellenkezőleg: az évente bemutatott áldozatok folyton a bűnre emlékeztetnek, 4 mert lehetetlen, hogy a bikák és bakok vére eltörölje az emberek bűneit!
5 Ezért mondta Krisztus, amikor bejött a világba:
„Istenem, nem kívántad a bűnért való áldozatokat,
sem a hálaáldozatokat,
hanem testet alkottál nekem.
6 Nem lelted örömödet az égőáldozatokban,
sem a vétekért való áldozatokban.
7 Ezért azt mondtam: Itt vagyok én, Istenem!
Azért jöttem, hogy véghezvigyem akaratodat,
úgy, ahogy a könyvtekercsben meg van írva rólam.”[a]
8 Tehát először azt mondja: „Nem kívántad a bűnért való áldozatokat, sem a hálaáldozatokat. Nem lelted örömödet az égőáldozatokban, sem a vétekért való áldozatokban.” (Pedig a Törvény szerint ezeket az áldozatokat kellett bemutatni.) 9 Azután pedig így szól: „Itt vagyok én, Istenem! Azért jöttem, hogy véghezvigyem akaratodat.” Ez azt jelenti, hogy Isten megszünteti az áldozatok régi rendjét, és ugyanakkor új rendet vezet be. 10 Jézus Krisztus valóban véghezvitte mindazt, amit Isten akart. Bennünket pedig Istennek ez az akarata tett az ő számára különválasztott, szent néppé. Ez Jézus testének egyszeri feláldozása által történt meg, amely mindörökké érvényes.
11 Izráelben a papok minden nap szolgálatban álltak, és elvégezték a Törvény által előírt kötelességüket. törvényeimet a szívükbe vésem,

10 La Loi de Moïse ne possède qu’une ombre des biens à venir et non pas l’image même de ces réalités. Elle ne peut donc en aucun cas amener à la perfection ceux qui s’approchent ainsi de Dieu sur la base des mêmes sacrifices offerts perpétuellement d’année en année. 2 Si elle l’avait pu, ceux qui participent à ce culte auraient depuis longtemps cessé d’offrir ces sacrifices car, purifiés une fois pour toutes, ils n’auraient plus eu la conscience chargée d’aucun péché.
3 Mais, en fait, ces sacrifices rappellent chaque année le souvenir des péchés. 4 En effet, il est impossible que du sang de taureaux et de boucs ôte les péchés. 5 Voilà pourquoi, en entrant dans le monde, Christ a dit :
Tu n’as voulu |ni sacrifice, ni offrande :
tu m’as formé un corps.
6 Tu n’as pris nul plaisir |aux holocaustes[a], |aux sacrifices |pour le péché.
7 Alors j’ai dit : Voici je viens
