13 Perseverate nell'amore fraterno. 2 Non dimenticate l'ospitalità; alcuni, praticandola, hanno accolto degli angeli senza saperlo. 3 Ricordatevi dei carcerati, come se foste loro compagni di carcere, e di quelli che soffrono, essendo anche voi in un corpo mortale. 4 Il matrimonio sia rispettato da tutti e il talamo sia senza macchia. I fornicatori e gli adùlteri saranno giudicati da Dio.
5 La vostra condotta sia senza avarizia; accontentatevi di quello che avete, perché Dio stesso ha detto: Non ti lascerò e non ti abbandonerò. 6 Così possiamo dire con fiducia:
Il Signore è il mio aiuto, non temerò.
Che mi potrà fare l'uomo?
7 Ricordatevi dei vostri capi, i quali vi hanno annunziato la parola di Dio; considerando attentamente l'esito del loro tenore di vita, imitatene la fede. 8 Gesù Cristo è lo stesso ieri, oggi e sempre! 9 Non lasciatevi sviare da dottrine diverse e peregrine, perché è bene che il cuore venga rinsaldato dalla grazia, non da cibi che non hanno mai recato giovamento a coloro che ne usarono. 10 Noi abbiamo un altare del quale non hanno alcun diritto di mangiare quelli che sono al servizio del Tabernacolo. 11 Infatti i corpi degli animali, il cui sangue vien portato nel santuario dal sommo sacerdote per i peccati, vengono bruciati fuori dell'accampamento. 12 Perciò anche Gesù, per santificare il popolo con il proprio sangue, patì fuori della porta della città. 13 Usciamo dunque anche noi dall'accampamento e andiamo verso di lui, portando il suo obbrobrio, 14 perché non abbiamo quaggiù una città stabile, ma cerchiamo quella futura. 15 Per mezzo di lui dunque offriamo continuamente un sacrificio di lode a Dio, cioè il frutto di labbra che confessano il suo nome.
16 Non scordatevi della beneficenza e di far parte dei vostri beni agli altri, perché di tali sacrifici il Signore si compiace.
17 Obbedite ai vostri capi e state loro sottomessi, perché essi vegliano su di voi, come chi ha da renderne conto; obbedite, perché facciano questo con gioia e non gemendo: ciò non sarebbe vantaggioso per voi.
18 Pregate per noi, poiché crediamo di avere una buona coscienza, desiderando di comportarci bene in tutto. 19 Con maggiore insistenza poi vi esorto a farlo, perché possa esservi restituito al più presto.
20 Il Dio della pace che ha fatto tornare dai morti il Pastore grande delle pecore, in virtù del sangue di un'alleanza eterna, il Signore nostro Gesù, 21 vi renda perfetti in ogni bene, perché possiate compiere la sua volontà, operando in voi ciò che a lui è gradito per mezzo di Gesù Cristo, al quale sia gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Amen.
22 Vi raccomando, fratelli, accogliete questa parola di esortazione; proprio per questo molto brevemente vi ho scritto. 23 Sappiate che il nostro fratello Timòteo è stato messo in libertà; se arriva presto, vi vedrò insieme con lui. 24 Salutate tutti i vostri capi e tutti i santi. Vi salutano quelli d'Italia. La grazia sia con tutti voi.

2 της φιλοξενιας μη επιλανθανεσθε δια ταυτης γαρ ελαθον τινες ξενισαντες αγγελους
3 μιμνησκεσθε των δεσμιων ως συνδεδεμενοι των κακουχουμενων ως και αυτοι οντες εν σωματι
4 τιμιος ο γαμος εν πασιν και η κοιτη αμιαντος πορνους γαρ και μοιχους κρινει ο θεος
5 αφιλαργυρος ο τροπος αρκουμενοι τοις παρουσιν αυτος γαρ ειρηκεν ου μη σε ανω ουδ ου μη σε εγκαταλιπω
6 ωστε θαρρουντας ημας λεγειν κυριος εμοι βοηθος ου φοβηθησομαι τι ποιησει μοι ανθρωπος

13 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
19 But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.
24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.
25 Grace be with you all. Amen.

Concluding Exhortations
13 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.(A) 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers,(B) for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.(C) 3 Continue to remember those in prison(D) as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
4 Marriage should be honored by all,(E) and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.(F) 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money(G) and be content with what you have,(H) because God has said,
6 So we say with confidence,
7 Remember your leaders,(K) who spoke the word of God(L) to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate(M) their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.(N)
9 Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.(O) It is good for our hearts to be strengthened(P) by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods,(Q) which is of no benefit to those who do so.(R) 10 We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle(S) have no right to eat.(T)
11 The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering,(U) but the bodies are burned outside the camp.(V) 12 And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate(W) to make the people holy(X) through his own blood.(Y) 13 Let us, then, go to him(Z) outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore.(AA) 14 For here we do not have an enduring city,(AB) but we are looking for the city that is to come.(AC)
15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice(AD) of praise—the fruit of lips(AE) that openly profess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others,(AF) for with such sacrifices(AG) God is pleased.
17 Have confidence in your leaders(AH) and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you(AI) as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
18 Pray for us.(AJ) We are sure that we have a clear conscience(AK) and desire to live honorably in every way. 19 I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon.(AL)
Benediction and Final Greetings
20 Now may the God of peace,(AM) who through the blood of the eternal covenant(AN) brought back from the dead(AO) our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,(AP) 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will,(AQ) and may he work in us(AR) what is pleasing to him,(AS) through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. 22 Brothers and sisters, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you quite briefly.(AU)
23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy(AV) has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you.
