10 Poi, partendo di là, si recò nel territorio della Giudea lungo il Giordano, e di nuovo le folle si radunarono intorno a lui, ed egli nuovamente, come al solito, le ammaestrava.
2 E i farisei, per metterlo alla prova, gli domandarono: «E' lecito al marito ripudiare la moglie?».
3 Ed egli, rispondendo, disse loro: «Che cosa vi ha comandato Mosè?».
4 Essi dissero: «Mosè ha permesso di scrivere un atto di divorzio e di ripudiare la moglie».
5 E Gesú, rispondendo, disse loro: «Fu a causa della durezza del vostro cuore che egli scrisse questa disposizione;
6 ma al principio della creazione, Dio li fece maschio e femmina.
7 Perciò l'uomo lascerà suo padre e sua madre e si unirà a sua moglie;
8 e i due diverranno una stessa carne; cosí non sono piú due, ma una sola carne.
9 L'uomo dunque non separi ciò che Dio ha unito!».
10 E in casa i suoi discepoli lo interrogarono di nuovo su questo argomento.
11 Allora egli disse loro: «Chiunque manda via la propria moglie e ne sposa un'altra, commette adulterio contro di lei.
12 Similmente, se la moglie lascia il proprio marito e ne sposa un altro, commette adulterio».
13 Allora, gli furono presentati dei fanciulli, perché li toccasse, ma i discepoli sgridavano coloro che li portavano.
14 E Gesú, nel vedere ciò, si indignò, e disse loro: «Lasciate che i piccoli fanciulli vengano a me e non glielo impedite, perché di tali è il regno di Dio.
15 In verità vi dico che chiunque non riceve il regno di Dio come un piccolo fanciullo, non entrerà in esso».
16 E, presili in braccio, li benedisse, imponendo loro le mani.
17 Ora, mentre stava per mettersi in viaggio, un tale gli corse incontro; e inginocchiatosi davanti a lui, gli chiese: «Maestro buono, cosa devo fare per ereditare la vita eterna?».
18 E Gesú gli disse: «Perché mi chiami buono? Nessuno è buono, tranne uno solo, cioè Dio.
19 Tu conosci i comandamenti: "Non commettere adulterio. Non uccidere. Non rubare. Non dire falsa testimonianza. Non frodare. Onora tuo padre e tua madre"».
20 Ed egli, rispondendo, gli disse: «Maestro, tutte queste cose le ho osservate fin dalla mia fanciullezza».
21 Allora Gesú, fissandolo nel volto, l'amò e gli disse: «Una cosa ti manca; va
22 Ma egli, rattristatosi per quella parola, se ne andò dolente, perché aveva molti beni.
23 Allora Gesú, volgendo lo sguardo attorno, disse ai suoi discepoli: «Quanto difficilmente coloro che hanno delle ricchezze entreranno nel regno di Dio!».
24 E i discepoli sbigottirono alle sue parole. Ma Gesú, prendendo di nuovo la parola, disse loro: «Figli, quanto è difficile, per coloro che confidano nelle ricchezze entrare nel regno di Dio.
25 E piú facile che un cammello passi per la cruna, di un ago, che un ricco entri nel regno di Dio».
26 Ed essi, ancora piú stupiti, dicevano fra di loro: «E chi dunque può essere salvato?».
27 Ma Gesú, fissando lo sguardo su di loro, disse: «Questo è impossibile agli uomini, ma non a Dio, perché ogni cosa è possibile a Dio»,
28 E Pietro prese a dirgli: «Ecco, noi abbiamo lasciato ogni cosa e ti abbiamo seguito».
29 Allora Gesú, rispondendo, disse: «Io vi dico in verità che non c'è nessuno che abbia lasciato casa o fratelli o sorelle o padre o madre o moglie o figli o poderi per amor mio e dell'evangelo,
30 che non riceva il centuplo ora, in questo tempo, in case, fratelli, sorelle madre, figli e poderi, insieme a persecuzioni e, nel secolo a venire, la vita eterna.
31 Ma molti primi saranno ultimi, e molti ultimi saranno primi».
32 Or essi si trovavano in viaggio per salire a Gerusalemme, e Gesú li precedeva, ed essi erano sgomenti e lo seguivano con timore. Ed egli presi nuovamente i dodici in disparte, prese a dir loro quello che gli sarebbe accaduto:
33 «Ecco, noi saliamo a Gerusalemme e il Figlio dell'uomo sarà dato nelle mani dei capi dei sacerdoti e degli scribi; ed essi lo condanneranno a morte e lo consegneranno nelle mani dei gentili,
34 i quali lo scherniranno, lo flagelleranno, gli sputeranno addosso e l'uccideranno, ma il terzo giorno egli risusciterà».
35 Allora Giacomo e Giovanni, figli di Zebedeo, si accostarono a lui, dicendo: «Maestro, noi desideriamo che tu faccia per noi ciò che ti chiederemo».
36 Ed egli disse loro: «Che volete che io vi faccia?».
37 Essi gli dissero: «Concedici di sedere uno alla tua destra e l'altro alla tua sinistra nella tua gloria».
38 E Gesú disse loro: «Voi non sapete quello che domandate. Potete voi bere il calice che io berrò ed essere battezzati del battesimo di cui io sono battezzato?». Essi gli dissero: «Sí, lo possiamo».
39 E Gesú disse loro: «Voi certo berrete il calice che io bevo e sarete battezzati del battesimo di cui io sono battezzato,
40 ma quanto a sedere alla mia destra o alla mia sinistra, non sta a me darlo, ma è per coloro ai quali è stato preparato».
41 Udito ciò, gli altri dieci cominciarono ad indignarsi contro Giacomo e Giovanni.
42 Ma Gesú, chiamatili a sé, disse loro: «Voi sapete che coloro che sono ritenuti i sovrani delle nazioni le signoreggiano, e i loro grandi esercitano dominio su di esse;
43 ma tra voi non sarà cosí; anzi chiunque vorrà diventare grande tra voi, sarà vostro servo;
44 e chiunque fra voi vorrà essere il primo, sarà schiavo di tutti.
45 Poiché anche il Figlio dell'uomo non è venuto per essere servito, ma per servire e per dare la sua vita come prezzo di riscatto per molti».
46 Giunsero cosí a Gerico. E come egli usciva da Gerico con i suoi discepoli e con una grande folla, un certo figlio di Timeo, Bartimeo il cieco, sedeva lungo la strada mendicando.
47 Or avendo udito che chi passava era Gesú il Nazareno, cominciò a gridare e a dire: «Gesú, Figlio di Davide, abbi pietà di me!».
48 Molti lo sgridavano affinché tacesse ma egli gridava ancora piú forte: «Figlio di Davide, abbi pietà di me!».
49 E Gesú, fermatosi, ordinò che lo si chiamasse. Chiamarono dunque il cieco dicendogli: «Fatti animo, alzati, egli ti chiama!».
50 Allora egli, gettando via il suo vestito, si alzò e venne a Gesú.
51 E Gesú, rivolgendogli la parola, disse: «Che vuoi che io ti faccia?». Il cieco gli disse: «Rabboni, che io recuperi la vista!».
52 E Gesú gli disse: «Va la tua fede a ti ha guarito». E in quell'istante recuperò la vista e si mise a seguire Gesú per la via.

10 κακειθεν αναστας ερχεται εις τα ορια της ιουδαιας δια του περαν του ιορδανου και συμπορευονται παλιν οχλοι προς αυτον και ως ειωθει παλιν εδιδασκεν αυτους
2 και προσελθοντες οι φαρισαιοι επηρωτησαν αυτον ει εξεστιν ανδρι γυναικα απολυσαι πειραζοντες αυτον
3 ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν αυτοις τι υμιν ενετειλατο μωσης
4 οι δε ειπον μωσης επετρεψεν βιβλιον αποστασιου γραψαι και απολυσαι
5 και αποκριθεις ο ιησους ειπεν αυτοις προς την σκληροκαρδιαν υμων εγραψεν υμιν την εντολην ταυτην
6 απο δε αρχης κτισεως αρσεν και θηλυ εποιησεν αυτους ο θεος
7 ενεκεν τουτου καταλειψει ανθρωπος τον πατερα αυτου και την μητερα και προσκολληθησεται προς την γυναικα αυτου
8 και εσονται οι δυο εις σαρκα μιαν ωστε ουκετι εισιν δυο αλλα μια σαρξ
9 ο ουν ο θεος συνεζευξεν ανθρωπος μη χωριζετω
10 και εν τη οικια παλιν οι μαθηται αυτου περι του αυτου επηρωτησαν αυτον
11 και λεγει αυτοις ος εαν απολυση την γυναικα αυτου και γαμηση αλλην μοιχαται επ αυτην
12 και εαν γυνη απολυση τον ανδρα αυτης και γαμηθη αλλω μοιχαται
13 και προσεφερον αυτω παιδια ινα αψηται αυτων οι δε μαθηται επετιμων τοις προσφερουσιν
14 ιδων δε ο ιησους ηγανακτησεν και ειπεν αυτοις αφετε τα παιδια ερχεσθαι προς με και μη κωλυετε αυτα των γαρ τοιουτων εστιν η βασιλεια του θεου
15 αμην λεγω υμιν ος εαν μη δεξηται την βασιλειαν του θεου ως παιδιον ου μη εισελθη εις αυτην
16 και εναγκαλισαμενος αυτα τιθεις τας χειρας επ αυτα ηυλογει αυτα
17 και εκπορευομενου αυτου εις οδον προσδραμων εις και γονυπετησας αυτον επηρωτα αυτον διδασκαλε αγαθε τι ποιησω ινα ζωην αιωνιον κληρονομησω
18 ο δε ιησους ειπεν αυτω τι με λεγεις αγαθον ουδεις αγαθος ει μη εις ο θεος
19 τας εντολας οιδας μη μοιχευσης μη φονευσης μη κλεψης μη ψευδομαρτυρησης μη αποστερησης τιμα τον πατερα σου και την μητερα
20 ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν αυτω διδασκαλε ταυτα παντα εφυλαξαμην εκ νεοτητος μου
21 ο δε ιησους εμβλεψας αυτω ηγαπησεν αυτον και ειπεν αυτω εν σοι υστερει υπαγε οσα εχεις πωλησον και δος τοις πτωχοις και εξεις θησαυρον εν ουρανω και δευρο ακολουθει μοι αρας τον σταυρον
22 ο δε στυγνασας επι τω λογω απηλθεν λυπουμενος ην γαρ εχων κτηματα πολλα
23 και περιβλεψαμενος ο ιησους λεγει τοις μαθηταις αυτου πως δυσκολως οι τα χρηματα εχοντες εις την βασιλειαν του θεου εισελευσονται
24 οι δε μαθηται εθαμβουντο επι τοις λογοις αυτου ο δε ιησους παλιν αποκριθεις λεγει αυτοις τεκνα πως δυσκολον εστιν τους πεποιθοτας επι τοις χρημασιν εις την βασιλειαν του θεου εισελθειν
25 ευκοπωτερον εστιν καμηλον δια της τρυμαλιας της ραφιδος εισελθειν η πλουσιον εις την βασιλειαν του θεου εισελθειν
26 οι δε περισσως εξεπλησσοντο λεγοντες προς εαυτους και τις δυναται σωθηναι
27 εμβλεψας δε αυτοις ο ιησους λεγει παρα ανθρωποις αδυνατον αλλ ου παρα τω θεω παντα γαρ δυνατα εστιν παρα τω θεω
28 και ηρξατο ο πετρος λεγειν αυτω ιδου ημεις αφηκαμεν παντα και ηκολουθησαμεν σοι
29 αποκριθεις δε ο ιησους ειπεν αμην λεγω υμιν ουδεις εστιν ος αφηκεν οικιαν η αδελφους η αδελφας η πατερα η μητερα η γυναικα η τεκνα η αγρους ενεκεν εμου και του ευαγγελιου
30 εαν μη λαβη εκατονταπλασιονα νυν εν τω καιρω τουτω οικιας και αδελφους και αδελφας και μητερας και τεκνα και αγρους μετα διωγμων και εν τω αιωνι τω ερχομενω ζωην αιωνιον
31 πολλοι δε εσονται πρωτοι εσχατοι και οι εσχατοι πρωτοι
32 ησαν δε εν τη οδω αναβαινοντες εις ιεροσολυμα και ην προαγων αυτους ο ιησους και εθαμβουντο και ακολουθουντες εφοβουντο και παραλαβων παλιν τους δωδεκα ηρξατο αυτοις λεγειν τα μελλοντα αυτω συμβαινειν
33 οτι ιδου αναβαινομεν εις ιεροσολυμα και ο υιος του ανθρωπου παραδοθησεται τοις αρχιερευσιν και τοις γραμματευσιν και κατακρινουσιν αυτον θανατω και παραδωσουσιν αυτον τοις εθνεσιν
34 και εμπαιξουσιν αυτω και μαστιγωσουσιν αυτον και εμπτυσουσιν αυτω και αποκτενουσιν αυτον και τη τριτη ημερα αναστησεται
35 και προσπορευονται αυτω ιακωβος και ιωαννης οι υιοι ζεβεδαιου λεγοντες διδασκαλε θελομεν ινα ο εαν αιτησωμεν ποιησης ημιν
36 ο δε ειπεν αυτοις τι θελετε ποιησαι με υμιν
37 οι δε ειπον αυτω δος ημιν ινα εις εκ δεξιων σου και εις εξ ευωνυμων σου καθισωμεν εν τη δοξη σου
38 ο δε ιησους ειπεν αυτοις ουκ οιδατε τι αιτεισθε δυνασθε πιειν το ποτηριον ο εγω πινω και το βαπτισμα ο εγω βαπτιζομαι βαπτισθηναι
39 οι δε ειπον αυτω δυναμεθα ο δε ιησους ειπεν αυτοις το μεν ποτηριον ο εγω πινω πιεσθε και το βαπτισμα ο εγω βαπτιζομαι βαπτισθησεσθε
40 το δε καθισαι εκ δεξιων μου και εξ ευωνυμων μου ουκ εστιν εμον δουναι αλλ οις ητοιμασται
41 και ακουσαντες οι δεκα ηρξαντο αγανακτειν περι ιακωβου και ιωαννου
42 ο δε ιησους προσκαλεσαμενος αυτους λεγει αυτοις οιδατε οτι οι δοκουντες αρχειν των εθνων κατακυριευουσιν αυτων και οι μεγαλοι αυτων κατεξουσιαζουσιν αυτων
43 ουχ ουτως δε εσται εν υμιν αλλ ος εαν θελη γενεσθαι μεγας εν υμιν εσται διακονος υμων
44 και ος αν θελη υμων γενεσθαι πρωτος εσται παντων δουλος
45 και γαρ ο υιος του ανθρωπου ουκ ηλθεν διακονηθηναι αλλα διακονησαι και δουναι την ψυχην αυτου λυτρον αντι πολλων

Divorce(A)
10 Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan.(B) Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.(C)
2 Some Pharisees(D) came and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
3 “What did Moses command you?” he replied.
4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.”(E)
5 “It was because your hearts were hard(F) that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied. 6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’[a](G) 7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,[b] 8 and the two will become one flesh.’[c](H) So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
10 When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. 11 He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her.(I) 12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”(J)
The Little Children and Jesus(K)
13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.(L) 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”(M) 16 And he took the children in his arms,(N) placed his hands on them and blessed them.
The Rich and the Kingdom of God(O)
17 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees(P) before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”(Q)
18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’[d]”(R)
20 “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.”
21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor,(S) and you will have treasure in heaven.(T) Then come, follow me.”(U)
22 At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich(V) to enter the kingdom of God!”
24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is[e] to enter the kingdom of God!(W) 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”(X)
26 The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?”
27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”(Y)
28 Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!”(Z)
29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much(AA) in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come(AB) eternal life.(AC) 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”(AD)
Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time(AE)
32 They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the disciples were astonished, while those who followed were afraid. Again he took the Twelve(AF) aside and told them what was going to happen to him. 33 “We are going up to Jerusalem,”(AG) he said, “and the Son of Man(AH) will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law.(AI) They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, 34 who will mock him and spit on him, flog him(AJ) and kill him.(AK) Three days later(AL) he will rise.”(AM)
The Request of James and John(AN)
35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”
36 “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
37 They replied, “Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory.”(AO)
38 “You don’t know what you are asking,”(AP) Jesus said. “Can you drink the cup(AQ) I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?”(AR)
39 “We can,” they answered.
Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with,(AS) 40 but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared.”
41 When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. 42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,(AT) 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,(AU) and to give his life as a ransom for many.”(AV)
Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight(AW)
46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth,(AX) he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David,(AY) have mercy on me!”
48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi,(AZ) I want to see.”
52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.”(BA) Immediately he received his sight and followed(BB) Jesus along the road.

20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?

48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
