א לפני שנים רבות דיבר אלוהים אל אבותינו באמצעות הנביאים בדרכים שונות, וסיפר להם, שלב אחרי שלב, על תוכניותיו.
2 אך עתה, באחרית הימים, דיבר אלינו אלוהים באמצעות בנו, אשר בידו הפקיד את הכול ועל-ידו ברא את העולם ואת כל אשר בו.
3 בן-האלוהים מקרין את זוהר כבוד האלוהים; הוא צלם תכונותיו של אלוהים, ובכוח גבורתו הוא נושא את העולם כולו. לאחר שהקריב את עצמו למעננו, כדי לטהר אותנו מחטאינו, עלה בן האלוהים למרומים וישב לימין האלוהים. 4 בזאת הוכיח שהוא בעל חשיבות גדולה מכל המלאכים, ואלוהים אישר עובדה זאת כשהעניק לו את השם: "בן-אלוהים" – שם שלא הוענק לאף מלאך!
5 לאיזה מלאך אמר אלוהים אי-פעם[a]: "בני אתה, אני היום ילדתיך"?, או[b] "אני אהיה לו לאב והוא יהיה לי לבן"? 6 כשהציג אלוהים לפני העולם את בנו בכורו, את ישוע המשיח, אמר[c]: "השתחוו לו כל-מלאכי אלוהים".
7 אלוהים מדבר על מלאכיו כעל שליחים שמהירים כרוח, ועל משרתיו – כלהבות אש.
8 אך לבנו הוא אומר[d]:
"כסאך, אלוהים, עולם ועד,
שבט מישר שבט מלכותך.
9 אהבת צדק ותשנא רשע,
על כן משחך אלהים אלהיך
שמן ששון מחבריך".
10 גם במקום אחר אנו מוצאים רמז לעליונותו של הבן[e]:
"לפנים הארץ יסדת, ומעשה ידיך שמים,
11 המה יאבדו, ואתה תעמד; וכולם כבגד יבלו.
12 כלבוש תחליפם, ויחלפו.
ואתה הוא ושנותיך לא יתמו".
13 האם אמר אלוהים אי-פעם לאחד המלאכים את אשר אמר לבנו[f]: "שב לימיני עד אשית איביך הדם לרגליך"?. 14 לא! כי המלאכים הם רק רוחות שרת, אשר נשלחו לעזור ולהשגיח על העתידים להיוושע.

اللهُ كَلَّمَنَا فِي ابْنِه
1 فِيمَا مَضَى كَلَّمَ اللهُ آبَاءَنَا بِوَاسِطَةِ الأنْبِيَاءِ مَرَّاتٍ كَثِيرَةً وَبِطُرُقٍ مُتَنَوِّعَةٍ. 2 أمَّا فِي هَذِهِ الأيَّامِ الأخِيرَةِ فَقَدْ كَلَّمَنَا فِي ابنِهِ الَّذِي عَيَّنَهُ وَارِثًا لِكُلِّ الأشْيَاءِ، وَبِهِ خَلَقَ الكَونَ. 3 فَهُوَ بَهَاءُ مَجْدِ اللهِ، وَالتَّعْبِيرُ الدَّقِيقُ عَنْ جَوهَرِهِ، وَالَّذِي يُحَافِظُ عَلَى كُلِّ الأشْيَاءِ بِكَلِمَتِهِ القَدِيرَةِ. وَبَعْدَ أنْ تَمَّمَ تَطْهِيرَ خَطَايَا البَشَرِ، جَلَسَ عَنْ يَمِينِ اللهِ[a] العَظِيمِ فِي السَّمَاءِ. 4 فَصَارَ أرفَعَ مَنزِلَةً مِنَ المَلَائِكَةِ، بِمِقدَارِ ارتِفَاعِ الاسْمِ الَّذِي أخَذَهُ عَنْ أسمَائِهِمْ.
الابْنُ أعْظَمُ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَة
5 فَلِأيٍّ مِنَ المَلَائِكَةِ قَالَ اللهُ يَومًا:
«أنْتَ ابنِي،
وَأنَا الَيَوْمَ وَلَدْتُكَ؟»[b]
أوْ لِأيٍّ مِنْهَا قَالَ اللهُ:
«سَأكُونُ أبَاهُ،
وَهُوَ سَيَكُونُ ابنِي؟»[c]
6 وَمَرَّةً أُخْرَى، حِينَ أدْخَلَ اللهُ ابنَهُ البِكرَ إلَى العَالَمِ، قَالَ:
«لِتَعْبُدْهُ كُلُّ مَلَائِكَةِ اللهِ.»[d]
7 فَاللهُ يَقُولُ عَنِ المَلَائِكَةِ:
8 أمَّا عَنْ الابْنِ فَيَقُولُ:
«عَرشُكَ يَا اللهُ بَاقٍ إلَى أبَدِ الآبِدِينَ،
بِصَولَجَانِ الاسْتِقَامَةِ سَتَحْكُمُ مَملَكَتَكَ.
9 عَلَى الدَّوَامِ أحبَبْتَ البِرَّ وَكَرِهتَ الإثمَ.
لِهَذَا مَسَحَكَ اللهُ إلَهُكَ بِزَيْتِ الابْتِهَاجِ
أكْثَرَ مِنْ كُلِّ رِفَاقِكَ.»[g]
10 وَقَالَ اللهُ أيْضًا:
«وَأنْتَ يَا رَبُّ
وَضَعْتَ أسَاسَاتِ الأرْضِ فِي البَدْءِ.
وَيَدَاكَ هُمَا اللَّتَانِ صَنَعَتَا السَّمَاوَاتِ.
11 لَكِنَّهَا كُلَّهَا سَتَفْنَى،
أمَّا أنْتَ فَتَبْقَى.
هِيَ سَتَبْلَى كَمَا يَبْلَى الثَّوبُ.
كَرِدَاءٍ سَتَطْوِيهَا،
12 وَتُغَيِّرُهَا كَمَا تَتَغَيَّرُ المَلَابِسُ.
أمَّا أنْتَ فَلَا تَتَغَيَّرُ أبَدًا،
وَلَا نِهَايَةَ لِسَنَوَاتِ حَيَاتِكَ.»[h]
13 وَلِمَنْ مِنَ المَلَائِكَةِ قَالَ اللهُ:
«اجلِسْ عَنْ يَمِينِي
إلَى أنْ أجعَلَ أعْدَاءَكَ مِسْنَدًا لِقَدَمَيكَ؟»[i]
14 ألَيْسَتِ المَلَائِكَةُ كُلُّهَا أروَاحًا تَعْمَلُ فِي خِدْمَةِ اللهِ؟ ألَيْسَتْ هِيَ مُرسَلَةٌ لِخِدْمَةِ الَّذِينَ سَيَرِثُونَ الخَلَاصَ؟

Introducción
1 Hace mucho, mucho tiempo, los profetas comunicaron el mensaje de Dios a nuestros antepasados. Lo hicieron muchas veces y de muchas maneras. 2 Pero ahora, en estos últimos tiempos, Dios nos lo ha comunicado por medio de su Hijo. Porque por medio de él Dios creó el universo, y lo hizo dueño de todas las cosas. 3 El Hijo de Dios nos muestra el poder y la grandeza de su Padre. El Hijo de Dios es igual en todo a su Padre, y con su gran poder hace que el universo siga existiendo. El Hijo de Dios logró que Dios nos perdonara nuestros pecados, y después subió al cielo para sentarse a la derecha del trono de su Padre.
El Hijo de Dios es superior a los ángeles
4 El Hijo de Dios llegó a ser superior a los ángeles, pues Dios le dio un nombre mucho más importante que el de ellos. 5 Porque nunca Dios le dijo a ningún ángel:
«Tú eres mi Hijo;
desde hoy soy tu padre.»
Tampoco dijo de ningún ángel:
«Yo seré para él como un padre,
y él será para mí como un Hijo.»
6 Y cuando Dios envió a su Hijo a este mundo, ordenó:
«Que todos mis ángeles lo adoren.»
7 Además, cuando Dios habla acerca de los ángeles, dice:
«Mis ángeles son el viento,
y mis sirvientes son relámpagos.»
8 Pero, cuando habla de su Hijo, Dios dice:
«Tu reinado durará para siempre,
y usarás tu poder en favor de la justicia.
9 Te complaces en lo bueno,
y rechazas la injusticia.
Yo te declaro mi rey favorito,
¡el rey más feliz de la tierra!»
10 Y también dice:
«Señor,
en el principio
tú afirmaste la tierra;
tú mismo hiciste los cielos,
11 pero se irán gastando,
como la ropa,
y un día los destruirás.
»Pero tú te mantendrás firme;
12 siempre serás el mismo,
y tus años no tendrán fin.»
13 Dios nunca le dijo a ningún ángel:
«Siéntate a la derecha de mi trono,
hasta que yo derrote a tus enemigos.»
14 Porque los ángeles son solamente espíritus que sirven a Dios, y él los envía para ayudar a toda la gente que Dios habrá de salvar.

God’s Final Word: His Son
1 In the past God spoke(A) to our ancestors through the prophets(B) at many times and in various ways,(C) 2 but in these last days(D) he has spoken to us by his Son,(E) whom he appointed heir(F) of all things, and through whom(G) also he made the universe.(H) 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory(I) and the exact representation of his being,(J) sustaining all things(K) by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,(L) he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.(M) 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.(N)
The Son Superior to Angels
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,
Or again,
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn(Q) into the world,(R) he says,
7 In speaking of the angels he says,
8 But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;(U)
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions(V)
by anointing you with the oil(W) of joy.”[e](X)
10 He also says,
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.(Y)
11 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.(Z)
12 You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,(AA)
and your years will never end.”[f](AB)
13 To which of the angels did God ever say,
14 Are not all angels ministering spirits(AF) sent to serve those who will inherit(AG) salvation?(AH)
