نبوءة ضد بابل
13 رُؤْيَا إِشَعْيَاءَ بْنِ آمُوصَ بِشَأْنِ بَابِلَ:
2 انْصُبُوا رَايَةً فَوْقَ جَبَلٍ أَجْرَدَ. اصْرُخُوا فِيهِمْ. لَوِّحُوا بِأَيْدِيكُمْ حَتَّى يَدْخُلُوا أَبْوَابَ الْعُظَمَاءِ. 3 إِنِّي أَمَرْتُ مُقَدَّسِيَّ وَاسْتَدْعَيْتُ جَبَابِرَتِي الْمُفْتَخِرِينَ بِعَظَمَتِي لِيُنَفِّذُوا عِقَابَ غَضَبِي. 4 هَا جَلَبَةٌ عَلَى الْجِبَالِ مِثْلُ صَوْتِ أَقْوَامٍ غَفِيرَةٍ. صَوْتُ صَخَبِ مَمَالِكِ أُمَمٍ مُجْتَمِعَةٍ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ الْقَدِيرَ يَسْتَعْرِضُ جُنُودَ الْقِتَالِ. 5 يُقْبِلُونَ مِنْ أَرْضٍ نَائِيَةٍ، مِنْ أَقْصَى السَّمَاوَاتِ. هُمْ جُنُودُ الرَّبِّ وَأَسْلِحَةُ سَخَطِهِ لِتَدْمِيرِ الأَرْضِ كُلِّهَا.
6 وَلْوِلُوا، فَإِنَّ يَوْمَ الرَّبِّ بَاتَ وَشِيكاً قَادِماً مِنْ عِنْدِ الرَّبِّ مُحَمَّلاً بِالدَّمَارِ. 7 لِذَلِكَ تَرْتَخِي كُلُّ يَدٍ، وَيَذُوبُ قَلْبُ كُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ. 8 يَنْتَابُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ، وَتَأْخُذُهُمْ أَوْجَاعٌ وَمَخَاضٌ، يَتَلَوَّوْنَ كَوَالِدَةٍ تُقَاسِي مِنْ آلامِ الْمَخَاضِ. وَيُحَمْلِقُ بَعْضُهُمْ بِبَعْضٍ مَبْهُوتِينَ بِوُجُوهٍ مُلْتَهِبَةٍ.
9 هَا هُوَ يَوْمُ الرَّبِّ آتٍ مُفْعَماً بِالْقَسْوَةِ وَالسَّخَطِ وَالْغَضَبِ الْعَنِيفِ، لِيَجْعَلَ الأَرْضَ خَرَاباً وَيُبِيدَ مِنْهَا الْخُطَاةَ. 10 فَإِنَّ نُجُومَ السَّمَاءِ وَكَوَاكِبَهَا لَا تُشْرِقُ بِنُورِهَا، وَالشَّمْسَ تُظْلِمُ عِنْدَ بُزُوغِهَا، وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يُشِعُّ بِضَوْئِهِ. 11 وَأُعَاقِبُ الْعَالَمَ عَلَى شَرِّهِ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ عَلَى آثَامِهِمْ، وَأَضَعُ حَدّاً لِصَلَفِ الْمُتَغَطْرِسِينَ وَأُذِلُّ كِبْرِيَاءَ الْعُتَاةِ، 12 فَيُصْبِحُ الرِّجَالُ لِقِلَّةِ عَدَدِهِمْ أَنْدَرَ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ النَّقِيِّ وَأَعَزَّ مِنْ ذَهَبِ أُوفِيرَ. 13 وَأُزَلْزِلُ السَّمَاوَاتِ فَتَتَزَعْزَعُ الأَرْضُ فِي مَوْضِعِهَا مِنْ غَضَبِ الرَّبِّ الْقَدِيرِ فِي يَوْمِ احْتِدَامِ سَخَطِهِ. 14 وَتُوَلِّي جُيُوشُ بَابِلَ الأَدْبَارَ حَتَّى يَنْهَكَهَا التَّعَبُ، عَائِدِينَ إِلَى أَرْضِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ غَزَالٌ مُطَارَدٌ أَوْ غَنَمٌ لَا رَاعِيَ لَهَا. 15 كُلُّ مَنْ يُؤْسَرْ يُطْعَنْ، وَمَنْ يُقْبَضْ عَلَيْهِ يُصْرَعْ بِالسَّيْفِ، 16 وَيُمَزَّقْ أَطْفَالُهُمْ عَلَى مَرْأىً مِنْهُمْ، وَتُنْهَبْ بُيُوتُهُمْ، وَتُغْتَصَبْ نِسَاؤُهُمْ.
17 هَا أَنَا أُثِيرُ عَلَيْهِمِ الْمَادِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَكْتَرِثُونَ لِلْفِضَّةِ وَلا يُسَرُّونَ بِالذَّهَبِ، 18 تُمَزِّقُ قِسِيُّهُمُ الْفِتْيَانَ وَلا يَرْحَمُونَ الأَوْلادَ أَوِ الرُّضَّعَ. 19 أَمَّا بَابِلُ، مَجْدُ الْمَمَالِكِ وَبَهَاءُ وَفَخْرُ الْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ، فَتُصْبِحُ كَسَدُومَ وَعَمُورَةَ اللَّتَيْنِ قَلَبَهُمَا اللهُ. 20 لَا يُسْكَنُ فِيهَا، وَلا تُعْمَرُ مِنْ جِيلٍ إِلَى جِيلٍ، لَا يَنْصِبُ فِيهَا بَدَوِيٌّ خَيْمَتَهُ، وَلا يُرْبِضُ فِيهَا رَاعٍ قُطْعَانَهُ. 21 إِنَّمَا تَأْوِي إِلَيْهَا وُحُوشُ الْقَفْرِ وَتَعِجُّ بُيُوتُ خَرَائِبِهَا بِالْبُومِ، وَتَلْجَأُ إِلَيْهَا بَنَاتُ النَّعَامِ، وَتَتَوَاثَبُ فِيهَا الْمَاعِزُ الْبَرِّيَّةُ، 22 وَتَتَعَاوَى الضِّبَاعُ بَيْنَ أَبْرَاجِهَا، وَبَنَاتُ آوَى بَيْنَ قُصُورِهَا الْفَخْمَةِ. إِنَّ وَقْتَ عِقَابِهَا بَاتَ وَشِيكاً، وَأَيَّامَهَا لَنْ تَطُولَ!

رِسَالَةُ اللهِ إلَى بَابِل
13 هَذَا هُوَ الوَحيُ الَّذِي تَلَقَّاهُ إشَعْيَاءُ بْنُ آمُوصَ عَنْ بَابِلَ.
2 «ارفَعُوا رَايَةً عَلَى جَبَلٍ قَاحِلٍ!
ارفَعُوا صَوْتَكُمْ لَهُمْ.
حَرِّكُوا أيْدِيَكُمْ كَعَلَامَةٍ لِيَدْخُلُوا بَوَّابَةَ النُّبَلَاءِ.
3 «قَدْ أصدَرْتُ أمْرًا لِجَيْشِي المُقَدَّسِ،
نَادَيتُ مُحَارِبِيَّ لِأنِّي كُنْتُ غَاضِبًا،
أُولَئِكَ الفَرِحِينَ الَّذِينَ أفتَخِرُ بِهِمْ.
4 «هَا صَوْتُ ضَجَّةٍ فِي الجِبَالِ
كَصَوْتِ شَعْبٍ كَبِيرٍ.
هَا صَوْتُ ضَجَّةٍ مِنْ مَمَالِكِ الشُّعُوبِ المُجتَمِعَةِ.
الأُمَمُ تَحْتَشِدُ.
فَاللهُ القَدِيرُ يُجَهِّزُ جَيْشًا لِلمَعرَكَةِ.
5 يَأْتُونَ مِنْ أرْضٍ بَعِيدَةٍ مِنْ أقْصَى الأرْضِ.
اللهُ وَأسلِحَةُ غَضَبِهِ آتِيَةٌ لِتُدَمِّرَ كُلَّ الأرْضِ.»
6 نُوحُوا، لِأنَّ يَوْمَ اللهِ قَرِيبٌ.
سَيَأْتِي كَدَمَارٍ مِنَ القَدِيرِ.
7 وَلِهَذَا سَتَضْعُفُ الأيدِي،
وَسَتَذُوبُ القُلُوبُ خَوْفًا.
8 سَيَرْتَعِبُونَ،
وَسَيُمسِكُهُمُ الألَمُ كَامْرَأةٍ يُمْسِكُهَا ألَمُ الوِلَادَةِ.
سَيَنْظُرُ بَعْضُهُمْ إلَى بَعْضٍ بِرُعْبٍ.
وَسَتَصِيرُ وُجُوهُهُمْ حَمْرَاءَ كَالنَّارِ.
دَينُونَةُ اللهِ عَلَى بَابِل
9 هَا يَوْمُ اللهِ قَادِمٌ.
وَهُوَ يَومٌ قَاسٍ مَعَ سَخَطٍ وَغَضَبٍ
يَشْتَعِلُ لِخَرَابِ الأرْضِ
وَلِإبَادَةِ الخُطَاةِ مِنْهَا.
10 لِأنَّ نُجُومَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَكَوَاكِبَهَا لَنْ تُعطِيَ نُورَهَا،
وَسَتَكُونُ الشَّمْسُ مُظلِمَةً عِنْدَ طُلُوعِهَا،
وَالقَمَرُ لَنْ يُعطِيَ نُورَهُ.
11 يَقُولُ اللهُ: «سَآتِي بِمَصَائِبَ عَلَى العَالَمِ،
وَسَأُعَاقِبُ الأشرَارَ عَلَى شَرِّهِمْ.
سَأضَعُ نِهَايَةً لِكِبرِيَاءِ المُسْتَكْبِرِينَ،
وَأحُطُّ كِبرِيَاءَ المُتَجَبِّرِينَ.
12 وَسَأجْعَلُ البَشَرَ أندَرَ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ النَّقِيِّ،
وَالنَّاسَ مِنْ ذَهَبِ مَدِينَةِ أُوفِيرَ.
13 وَلِهَذَا سَأُزَلزِلُ السَّمَاوَاتِ،
وَأهُزُّ الأرْضَ مِنْ مَكَانِهَا.»
سَيَقَعُ هَذَا فِي يَوْمِ اشتِعَالِ غَضَبِ اللهِ القَدِيرِ.
14 سَيَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَغَزَالٍ قَدْ صِيدَ،
وَكَغَنَمٍ بِلَا رَاعٍ يَجْمَعُهَا.
وَسَيَلجأُ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ إلَى شَعْبِهِ،
وَيَهْرُبُ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ إلَى بَلَدِهِ.
15 وَكُلُّ مَنْ وُجِدَ مِنْهُمْ سَيُطعَنُ،
وَكُلُّ مَنْ أُمسِكَ سَيُقتَلُ بِالسَّيْفِ.
16 سَيُمَزَّقُ أطْفَالُهُمْ أمَامَ عُيُونِهِمْ،
وَسَتُنهَبُ بُيُوتُهُمْ، وَتُغتَصَبُ نِسَاؤُهُمْ.
17 يَقُولُ اللهُ:
«هَا أنَا أُهَيِّجُ المَادِيِّينَ ضِدَّهُمْ.
فَهُمْ لَا يَرْتَشُونَ بِالفِضَّةِ وَلَا بِالذَّهَبِ.
18 سَيُمَزِّقُونَ الفِتيَانَ بِأقْوَاسِهِمْ،
وَلَنْ يَرْحَمُوا الرُّضَّعَ،
وَلَنْ يُشفِقُوا عَلَى الأطْفَالِ.
19 وَبَابِلُ – الَّتِي هِيَ أجمَلُ مَمَالِكِ الأرْضِ
وَمَجْدُ الكِلدَانِيِّينَ وَفَخرُهُمْ –
سَتَكُونُ مِثْلَ سَدُومَ وَعَمُورَةَ حِينَ دَمَّرَهُمَا اللهُ.
20 فَلَنْ يَسْكُنَهَا أحَدٌ إلَى الأبَدِ.
لَنْ يَنْصِبَ بَدَوِيٌّ خَيْمَتَهُ فِيهَا،
وَلَنْ يَرْعَى الرُّعَاةُ غَنَمَهُمْ.
21 بَلْ سَتَعِيشُ فِيهَا الحَيَوَانَاتُ البَرِّيَّةُ،
وَسَتَسْكُنُ بُيُوتَهُمُ البُومُ.
سَيَسْكُنُ النَّعَامُ هُنَاكَ،
وَسَيَلْعَبُ المَاعِزُ الوَحشِيُّ فِيهَا.
22 سَتَصيحُ الضِّبَاعُ فِي أبرَاجِهَا،
وَالذِّئَابُ فِي قُصُورِهَا المُترَفَةِ.
نِهَايَتُهَا قَرِيبَةٌ، وَلَنْ تَطُولَ أيَّامُهَا.»

Contro Babilonia
13 Oracolo su Babilonia, ricevuto in visione da Isaia figlio di Amoz.
2 Su un monte brullo issate un segnale,
alzate per essi un grido;
fate cenni con la mano perché varchino
le porte dei principi.
3 Io ho dato un ordine ai miei consacrati;
ho chiamato i miei prodi a strumento del mio sdegno,
entusiasti della mia grandezza.
4 Rumore di folla sui monti,
simile a quello di un popolo immenso.
Rumore fragoroso di regni,
di nazioni radunate.
Il Signore degli eserciti passa in rassegna
un esercito di guerra.
5 Vengono da un paese lontano,
dall'estremo orizzonte,
il Signore e gli strumenti della sua collera,
per devastare tutto il paese.
6 Urlate, perché è vicino il giorno del Signore;
esso viene come una devastazione
da parte dell'Onnipotente.
7 Perciò tutte le braccia sono fiacche,
ogni cuore d'uomo viene meno;
8 sono costernati, spasimi e dolori li prendono,
si contorcono come una partoriente;
ognuno osserva sgomento il suo vicino;
i loro volti sono volti di fiamma.
9 Ecco, il giorno del Signore arriva implacabile,
con sdegno, ira e furore,
per fare della terra un deserto,
per sterminare i peccatori.
10 Poiché le stelle del cielo e la costellazione di Orione
non daranno più la loro luce;
il sole si oscurerà al suo sorgere
e la luna non diffonderà la sua luce.
11 Io punirò il mondo per il male,
gli empi per la loro iniquità;
farò cessare la superbia dei protervi

12 Renderò l'uomo più raro dell'oro

20 Non sarà abitata mai più né popolata
di generazione in generazione.
L'Arabo non vi pianterà la sua tenda
né i pastori vi faranno sostare i greggi.
21 Ma vi si stabiliranno gli animali del deserto,
i gufi riempiranno le loro case,
vi faranno dimora gli struzzi,
vi danzeranno i sàtiri.
22 Ululeranno le iene nei loro palazzi,
gli sciacalli nei loro edifici lussuosi.
La sua ora si avvicina,

A Prophecy Against Babylon
13 A prophecy(A) against Babylon(B) that Isaiah son of Amoz(C) saw:(D)
2 Raise a banner(E) on a bare hilltop,
shout to them;
beckon to them
to enter the gates(F) of the nobles.
3 I have commanded those I prepared for battle;
I have summoned my warriors(G) to carry out my wrath(H)—
those who rejoice(I) in my triumph.
4 Listen, a noise on the mountains,
like that of a great multitude!(J)
Listen, an uproar(K) among the kingdoms,
like nations massing together!
The Lord Almighty(L) is mustering(M)
an army for war.
5 They come from faraway lands,
from the ends of the heavens(N)—
the Lord and the weapons(O) of his wrath(P)—
to destroy(Q) the whole country.
6 Wail,(R) for the day(S) of the Lord is near;
it will come like destruction(T) from the Almighty.[a](U)
7 Because of this, all hands will go limp,(V)
every heart will melt with fear.(W)
8 Terror(X) will seize them,
pain and anguish will grip(Y) them;
they will writhe like a woman in labor.(Z)
They will look aghast at each other,
their faces aflame.(AA)
9 See, the day(AB) of the Lord is coming
—a cruel(AC) day, with wrath(AD) and fierce anger(AE)—
to make the land desolate
and destroy the sinners within it.
10 The stars of heaven and their constellations
will not show their light.(AF)
The rising sun(AG) will be darkened(AH)
and the moon will not give its light.(AI)
11 I will punish(AJ) the world for its evil,
the wicked(AK) for their sins.
I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty(AL)
and will humble(AM) the pride of the ruthless.(AN)
12 I will make people(AO) scarcer than pure gold,
more rare than the gold of Ophir.(AP)
13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble;(AQ)
and the earth will shake(AR) from its place
at the wrath(AS) of the Lord Almighty,
in the day of his burning anger.(AT)
14 Like a hunted(AU) gazelle,
like sheep without a shepherd,(AV)
they will all return to their own people,
they will flee(AW) to their native land.(AX)
15 Whoever is captured will be thrust through;
all who are caught will fall(AY) by the sword.(AZ)
16 Their infants(BA) will be dashed to pieces before their eyes;
their houses will be looted and their wives violated.(BB)
17 See, I will stir up(BC) against them the Medes,(BD)
who do not care for silver
and have no delight in gold.(BE)
18 Their bows(BF) will strike down the young men;(BG)
they will have no mercy(BH) on infants,
nor will they look with compassion on children.(BI)
19 Babylon,(BJ) the jewel of kingdoms,(BK)
the pride and glory(BL) of the Babylonians,[b]
will be overthrown(BM) by God
like Sodom and Gomorrah.(BN)
20 She will never be inhabited(BO)
or lived in through all generations;
there no nomads(BP) will pitch their tents,
there no shepherds will rest their flocks.
21 But desert creatures(BQ) will lie there,
jackals(BR) will fill her houses;
there the owls(BS) will dwell,
and there the wild goats(BT) will leap about.
22 Hyenas(BU) will inhabit her strongholds,(BV)
jackals(BW) her luxurious palaces.
Her time is at hand,(BX)
and her days will not be prolonged.(BY)
