우리의 대제사장이신 예수
8 우리 말의 요점은, 우리가 이런 대제사장[a]을 모시고 있으며, 그분은 하늘에 계신 지극히 높으신 분의 보좌 오른편[b]에 앉아 계신다는 것입니다. 2 그분은 사람이 세운 것이 아니라 주님께서 세우신 참 장막인 하늘 성전의 일을 맡아 보고 계십니다.
3 모든 대제사장은 예물과 희생 제물을 바치는 일을 맡게 하려고 세우신 사람입니다. 그러므로 이 대제사장 도 무엇인가 바칠 것이 있어야 합니다. 4 만일 그분이 땅 위에 계신다면 제사장이 되지 않으실 것입니다. 땅에는 이미 예물을 드릴 사람들이 율법에 따라 정해져 있기 때문입니다. 5 그들은 땅 위의 성전에서 섬기는 일을 하고 있는데, 그 성전은 하늘에 있는 것을 본떠 만든 모형과 그림자에 지나지 않습니다. 모세가 장막을 세우려고 할 때에 하나님께서 모세에게 엄하게 이르셨습니다. “너는 모든 것을 내가 산에서 보여 준 그 모양대로 만들도록 하여라.”(A) 6 그러나 이제 예수께서 맡아 하시는 일은 그들이 하던 일보다 훨씬 더 훌륭합니다. 마찬가지로, 예수께서 중재자로서 하나님께 받아 당신의 백성에게 주신 새 계약[c]도 옛 계약보다 훨씬 더 훌륭합니다. 새 계약은 더 좋은 것들을 주시겠다는 하나님의 약속에 바탕을 둔 것입니다.

9 이 새 계약은
내가 그들의 조상들의 손을 잡아

그 조상들과 맺은 계약과는 다른 것이다.
그들이 내 계약을 충실히 지키지 않았기에
나도 그들을 돌보지 않았다.
주님의 말씀이시다.
10 그 뒤에 내가 이스라엘 집안[e]과 맺을 언약은 이러하다.
나는 내 법을 그들 생각 안에 심어 주고
그들의 마음에 새겨 줄 것이다.
나는 그들의 하나님이 되고
그들은 내 백성이 될 것이다.
11 그들은
다시는 이웃이나 친척들에게
‘주님을 알아라.’ 라고
가르치거나 말할 필요가 없을 것이다.
그들은
가장 낮은 사람에서부터
가장 높은 사람에 이르기까지
모두 나를 알게 될 것이기 때문이다.
12 나는 그들의 잘못을 용서하고

8 Lucrul cel mai important din ceea ce am spus este că avem un astfel de Mare Preot, Care S-a aşezat la dreapta tronului Măreţiei, în ceruri, 2 slujitor în Locul Sfânt şi în adevăratul Cort, ridicat de Domnul, nu de oameni. 3 Fiecare preot este desemnat să aducă atât daruri, cât şi jertfe. Astfel, a trebuit ca şi Acesta să aibă ceva să aducă. 4 Aşadar, dacă era pe pământ, atunci nu mai era preot, întrucât există preoţi care aduc daruri potrivit cu Legea. 5 Ei slujesc într-un sanctuar care este o copie şi o umbră a celui ceresc – aşa cum i-a fost arătat lui Moise atunci când urma să ridice cortul. un nou legământ,
9 nu ca legământul pe care l-am încheiat cu strămoşii lor,
în ziua când i-am luat de mână
ca să-i scot din Egipt;
pentru că n-au rămas în legământul Meu,
nici Mie nu Mi-a păsat de ei, zice Domnul.
10 Ci acesta este legământul pe care-l voi încheia cu Casa lui Israel,
după acele zile, zice Domnul:
voi pune legile Mele în mintea lor
şi le voi scrie în inimile lor.
Eu voi fi Dumnezeul lor,
iar ei vor fi poporul Meu.
11 Şi nici unul nu va mai învăţa pe semenul
sau pe fratele său, zicând: «Cunoaşte-L pe Domnul!»,
pentru că toţi Mă vor cunoaşte,
de la cel mai mic până la cel mai mare,
12 căci voi fi îndurător în ce priveşte fărădelegile lor
şi nu-Mi voi mai aduce aminte de păcatele lor.“[b]
13 Vorbind despre un nou legământ, l-a făcut pe primul învechit, iar ceea ce este învechit şi îmbătrânit va dispărea în curând.

The Messiah Has a Better Ministry
8 Now the main point in what we are saying is this: we do have this kind of high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven 2 and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tent set up by the Lord and not by any human. 3 For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore, this high priest[a] had to offer something, too. 4 Now if he were on earth, he would not even be a priest, because other men offer the gifts prescribed by the Law. 5 They serve in a sanctuary that is a copy, a shadow of the heavenly one. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tent: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.”[b] 6 However, Jesus[c] has now obtained a more superior ministry, since the covenant he mediates is founded on better promises.
The New Covenant is Better than the Old
7 If the first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need to look for a second one, 8 but God[d] found something wrong with his people[e] when he said,
“Look! The days are coming, declares the Lord,[f]
when I will establish a new covenant
with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah.
9 It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors at the time
when I took them by the hand
and brought them out of the land of Egypt.
Because they did not remain loyal to my covenant,
I ignored them, declares the Lord.[g]
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord:[h]
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
11 Never again will everyone teach his neighbor
or his brother by saying, ‘Know the Lord,’[i]
because all of them will know me,
from the least important to the most important.
12 For I will be merciful regarding their wrong deeds,
and I will never again remember their sins.”[j]
13 In speaking of a “new” covenant, he has made the first one obsolete, and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.
