13 그리스도 안에 있는 같은 형제자매로서 서로를 꾸준히 사랑하십시오. 2 나그네들을 대접하는 일을 게을리 하지 마십시오. 어떤 사람들은 나그네를 대접하다가 자기도 모르는 사이에 천사들을 대접하였습니다. 3 감옥에 갇힌 사람들을 기억하되, 여러분도 그들과 함께 갇혀 있는 사람이라는 마음으로 기억하십시오. 학대 받는 사람들을 기억하되, 여러분 자신이 고통을 당한다는 마음으로 기억하십시오.
4 모두들 결혼을 귀중하게 여기고, 부부의 잠자리를 더럽히지 마십시오. 하나님께서는 간음[a]하는 자와 성적으로 부도덕한 자를 모두 심판하실 것입니다. 5 돈을 사랑하는 것에 얽매여 살지 말고, 지금 가지고 있는 것으로 만족하십시오. 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
“나는 결코 너를 떠나지도 않고
너를 버려 두지도 않을 것이다.”(A)
6 그러므로 우리는 자신 있게 이렇게 말합니다.
“주께서 나를 도와주시니
나는 두렵지 않다.
누가 감히 내게 손을 대랴?”(B)
7 여러분에게 하나님의 말씀을 전해 준 여러분의 지도자들을 기억하십시오. 그들이 어떻게 살다가 어떻게 죽었는지 살펴보고, 그들의 믿음을 본받으십시오. 8 예수 그리스도께서는 어제도 오늘도 또 영원히 한결같은 분이십니다.
9 온갖 이상한 교훈에 끌려 다니지 마십시오. 우리의 마음이 음식에 관한 규칙을 지키는 것으로 튼튼해지는 것이 아니라 은혜로 튼튼해지는 것이 좋습니다. 음식에 관한 규칙은 그것을 지킨 사람들에게 아무런 유익도 주지 못했습니다.
10 우리에게는 한 제물[b]이 있습니다. 그런데 이 땅의 성막에서 제사를 드리는 제사장들은 우리가 가진 제물을 먹을 수 없습니다. 11 유대교의 율법 아래서는 대제사장이 짐승의 피는 지성소로 가지고 들어가, 거기에서 죄를 용서받기 위한 제물로 바칩니다. 그러나 그 짐승의 고기는 진[c] 밖으로 가지고 나가 불살라 버립니다. 12 그러므로 예수께서도 당신의 피로 백성을 거룩하게 하시려고, 성문 밖에서 고난을 받으셨습니다. 13 그러니 우리도 진 밖에 계신 그분께 나아가, 그분이 겪으신 치욕을 함께 겪도록 합시다. 14 이곳에는 우리의 영원한 도시가 없습니다. 우리는 앞으로 다가올 도시를 바라보고 있습니다. 15 그러므로 예수를 통해서 하나님께 찬양의 제물을 쉬지 말고 드립시다. 그것은 우리 입으로 그분의 이름을 찬양하는 것입니다. 16 그리고 선한 일을 하고, 다른 사람들과 나누는 것을 잊지 마십시오. 하나님께서는 그런 제물을 기뻐하십니다.
17 여러분의 지도자들에게 순종하고, 그들의 권위에 복종하십시오. 그들은 여러분을 보살펴 주는 임무를 맡은 사람들이며, 자기들의 임무를 얼마나 잘 수행하였는지 하나님께 보고 드려야 할 사람들입니다. 그들에게 순종하여, 그들이 맡은 일을 짐스럽게 여기지 않고 기쁨으로 여기게 하십시오. 그들이 맡은 일을 짐스럽게 여기게 되면 여러분에게 좋을 것이 없습니다.

13 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
19 But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.
24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.
25 Grace be with you all. Amen.

13 Let (A)brotherly love continue. 2 (B)Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing (C)some have unwittingly entertained angels. 3 (D)Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.
4 (E)Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; (F)but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, (G)“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say:
(H)“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?”

7 Remember those who [a]rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. 8 Jesus Christ is (I)the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 Do not be carried [b]about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.

18 (R)Pray for us; for we are confident that we have (S)a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. 19 But I especially urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

20 Now may (T)the God of peace (U)who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, (V)that great Shepherd of the sheep, (W)through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you [f]complete in every good work to do His will, (X)working in [g]you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
22 And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words. 23 Know that our brother Timothy has been set free, with whom I shall see you if he comes shortly.
24 Greet all those who [h]rule over you, and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
