하나님이 말씀하심
1 옛날 하나님께서는 예언자들을 통하여 여러 가지 방법으로 수없이 우리 조상 들에게 말씀하셨습니다.
2 그러나 이 마지막 때에는 아들을 통해 우리에게 말씀해 주셨습니다. 하나님은 그 아들을 모든 것의 상속자로 삼으시고 또 아들을 통해 우주를 창조하셨습니다.
3 그 아들은 하나님의 영광의 광채시며 하나님의 본성을 그대로 나타내시는 분입니다. 그분은 능력 있는 말씀으로 만물을 보존하시며 죄를 깨끗게 하시고 하늘에 계시는 [a]위대하신 하나님 오른편에 앉으셨습니다.
4 그래서 천사들보다 더 뛰어난 이름을 받으시고 그들과는 비교할 수 없을 만큼 위대한 분이 되셨습니다.
5 하나님께서는 어느 천사에게도 [b]“너는 내 아들이다. 오늘 내가 너를 낳았다” 라고 말씀하시거나 또 [c]“나는 그의 아버지가 되고 그는 내 아들이 될 것이다” 라고 말씀하신 적이 없습니다.
6 그러나 하나님께서 맏아들을 세상에 보내실 때 [d]“하나님의 모든 천사들은 그에게 경배하여라” 하셨습니다.
7 또 천사들에 대해서는 [e]“하나님이 그의 천사들을 바람으로 삼으시고 그의 종들을 불꽃으로 삼으신다” 라고 하셨습니다.
8 그러나 아들에 대해서는 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. [f]“하나님이시여, [g]주는 영원히 통치하시고 주의 나라를 정의의 지팡이로 다스리십니다.
9 왕이 옳은 것을 사랑하고 악한 것을 미워하였으므로 왕의 하나님은 왕에게 기쁨의 기름을 부어 다른 왕들보다 높이셨습니다.”
10 [h]“주여, 태초에 주께서 땅의 기초를 놓으셨고 하늘도 주의 손으로 만드셨습니다.
11 하늘과 땅은 없어질 것이나 주는 영원히 살아 계실 것이며 그것들은 옷처럼 낡아질 것입니다.
12 주께서 그 모든 것을 옷처럼 말아 버리시면 그것들이 의복처럼 변할 것이나 주는 변함없이 한결같으시고 주의 연대는 끝이 없을 것입니다.”
13 하나님께서 어느 천사에게 [i]“내가 네 원수들을 네 발 앞에 굴복시킬 때까지 너는 내 오른편에 앉아 있거라” 고 말씀하신 적이 있었습니까?
14 천사들은 모두 섬기는 영들이며 앞으로 구원받을 사람들을 섬기라고 하나님이 보내신 일꾼에 불과합니다.

1 옛날에는 하나님께서 예언자들을 통하여 여러 번에 걸쳐 여러 가지 방법으로 우리 조상들에게 말씀하셨습니다. 2 그러나 이 마지막 때에 와서는 당신의 아드님을 통하여 우리에게 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 이 아드님을 모든 것을 물려받을 상속자로 세우시고, 그분을 통하여 온 우주를 만드셨습니다. 3 아드님은 하나님의 영광을 드러내는 찬란한 빛이시며, 하나님과 꼭 같은 본성을 지니시고, 능력 있는 말씀으로 모든 것을 보존하십니다. 그분은 사람들의 죄를 씻어 주신 뒤에, 하늘에 계신 지극히 높으신 하나님의 오른편에 앉으셨습니다. 4 그분은 천사들보다 더 위대한 이름을 물려받으셨으니, 천사들보다 더 높은 분이 되신 것입니다.
5 하나님께서 천사들 가운데 어떤 천사에게 이렇게 말씀하신 적이 있으십니까?
“너는 내 아들. 오늘 내가 너를 낳았다.”(A)
그리고 하나님께서 어느 천사에게 이렇게 말씀하신 일이 있으십니까?
“나는 그의 아버지가 되고
그는 내 아들이 될 것이다.”(B)
6 그리고 또 하나님께서 당신의 맏아들[a]을 세상으로 보내시면서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
“하나님의 모든 천사는 그를 경배하여라.”[b]
7 하나님께서 천사들에 대해서는 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
8 그러나 아드님에 대해서는 성경에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
“오 하나님, 당신의 보좌는 영원무궁하며
정의의 홀이
당신의 나라를 다스리는 홀입니다.
9 당신께서는 언제나 정의를 사랑하시고
불의를 미워하셨습니다.
그래서 하나님, 곧 당신의 하나님께서
당신께 기쁨의 기름을 부어
당신의 동료들 위로 높이 들어 주셨습니다.”(D)
10 또 하나님께서는 성경에서 이렇게도 말씀하셨습니다.
“오 주님, 당신께서는 맨 처음에
이 땅의 기초를 놓으시고
당신의 손으로 저 하늘을 지으셨습니다.
11 땅과 하늘은 사라지겠으나
당신께서는 영원히 계실 것입니다.
그것들은 모두 옷처럼 낡아지고 말 것입니다.
12 당신께서는 그것들을 겉옷처럼 두르르 말아 버리시고
그것들은 옷처럼 변해 버리고 말 것입니다.
그러나 당신께서는 언제나 한결같으시며
당신의 세월은 결코 끝이 없을 것입니다.”(E)
13 하나님께서 어느 천사에게 이렇게 말씀하신 일이 있었습니까?
“내가 네 원수들을 네 발아래 둘 때까지
너는 내 오른편에 앉아 있어라.”(F)
14 모든 천사는 구원을 상속 받을 사람들을 섬기라고 하나님께서 보내신 영들이 아닙니까?

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

God’s Final Word: His Son
1 In the past God spoke(A) to our ancestors through the prophets(B) at many times and in various ways,(C) 2 but in these last days(D) he has spoken to us by his Son,(E) whom he appointed heir(F) of all things, and through whom(G) also he made the universe.(H) 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory(I) and the exact representation of his being,(J) sustaining all things(K) by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,(L) he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.(M) 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.(N)
The Son Superior to Angels
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,
Or again,
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn(Q) into the world,(R) he says,
7 In speaking of the angels he says,
8 But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;(U)
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions(V)
by anointing you with the oil(W) of joy.”[e](X)
10 He also says,
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.(Y)
11 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.(Z)
12 You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,(AA)
and your years will never end.”[f](AB)
13 To which of the angels did God ever say,
14 Are not all angels ministering spirits(AF) sent to serve those who will inherit(AG) salvation?(AH)
