호세아, 노예인 고멜을 다시 사다
3 주께서 나에게 또 말씀하셨다. “너는 다른 남자들의 사랑을 받으며 살고 있는 고멜[a]을 다시 찾아가라. 그 여자를 사랑하여라. 이스라엘 백성이 다른 신에게 마음이 팔려 건포도 빵이나 좋아하는데도 나 주가 그들을 사랑하는 것처럼 너도 그 여자를 사랑해 주어라.”
2 그래서 나는 은 열다섯 세겔[b]과 보리 한 호멜 반[c]을 주고 고멜을 사서 데리고 왔다. 3 그리고 고멜에게 말했다. “당신은 앞으로 나와 오랫동안 함께 살면서 창녀가 되지도 말고, 다른 남자와 관계를 맺지도 말고, 나를 기다리시오. 그렇게 당신이 기다리는 동안 나도 당신을 기다리겠소.”
4 이처럼 이스라엘 백성은 오랫동안 왕도 통치자도 없이 살게 될 것이다. 그들에게는 희생제물도 기념비도 없고, 에봇도 수호신도 없이 지낼 것이다. 5 이런 일이 있은 다음에야 이스라엘 백성은 돌아와 그들의 하나님이신 주님과 그들의 왕 다윗을 찾을 것이다. 마지막 때에 떨면서 주 앞에 나와 주께서 주시는 선물을 받을 것이다.

Israel Will Return to God
3 Then the Lord said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by a (A)lover[a] and is committing adultery, just like the love of the Lord for the children of Israel, who look to other gods and love the raisin cakes of the pagans.”
2 So I bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver, and one and one-half homers of barley. 3 And I said to her, “You shall (B)stay with me many days; you shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have a man—so, too, will I be toward you.”
4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days (C)without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without (D)ephod or (E)teraphim. 5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and (F)seek the Lord their God and (G)David their king. They shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the (H)latter days.

Hosea’s Reconciliation With His Wife
3 The Lord said to me, “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress.(A) Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes.(B)”
2 So I bought her for fifteen shekels[a] of silver and about a homer and a lethek[b] of barley. 3 Then I told her, “You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man, and I will behave the same way toward you.”
4 For the Israelites will live many days without king or prince,(C) without sacrifice(D) or sacred stones,(E) without ephod(F) or household gods.(G) 5 Afterward the Israelites will return and seek(H) the Lord their God and David their king.(I) They will come trembling(J) to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days.(K)
