제사장의 예복
28 “너는 이스라엘 백성 가운데 네 형 아론과 그의 아들들인 나답과 아비 후와 엘르아살과 이다말을 불러내어 나를 섬기는 제사장이 되게 하라.
2 너는 네 형 아론에게 거룩한 예복을 만들어 입혀 품위와 아름다움이 풍기게 하라.
3 그런 일에 내가 특별한 재능을 준 모든 기능공들을 불러 아론의 옷을 만들게 하고 그를 거룩하게 하여 제사장으로서 나를 섬기게 하라.
4 그들이 만들 예복은 가슴패와 [a]앞치마 비슷한 에봇과 긴 속옷과 에봇 속에 받쳐 입는 겉옷과 관과 띠이다. 그들은 네 형 아론과 그의 아들들을 위해 이와 같은 거룩한 옷을 만들어 그들이 제사장으로서 나를 섬길 수 있도록 해야 한다.
5 그 기능공들이 사용할 재료는 금실과 청색, 자색, 홍색 실과 그리고 가늘게 꼰 베실이다.”

6 “에봇은 금실과 청색, 자색, 홍색실과 가늘게 꼰 베실을 정교하게 섞어 짜서 만들고
7 또 두 개의 어깨받이를 만들어 에봇의 앞판과 뒷판의 양쪽 끝에 달아 서로 연결하라.
8 그리고 에봇 위에 매는 허리띠는 에봇을 짤 때와 같은 방법으로 금실과 청색, 자색, 홍색 실과 가늘게 꼰 베실로 정교하게 에봇에 붙여 짜야 한다.
9 너는 호마노 두 개를 가져다가 야곱의 열두 아들의 이름을
10 나이 순에 따라 한 호마노에 여섯씩 새겨라.
11 그 이름을 새길 때는 보석 세공인이 인장 반지를 새기듯이 새겨야 한다. 그런 다음 너는 그 두 보석을 금테에 물리고
12 그것을 에봇의 두 어깨받이에 달아 [b]이스라엘 열두 지파의 상징으로 삼아라. 이와 같이 아론은 나 여호와 앞에서 기념으로 그들의 이름을 두 어깨에 달고 다녀야 한다.

가슴패
15 너는 에봇을 짤 때와 같은 방법으로 판결 가슴패를 금실과 청색, 자색, 홍색 실과 가늘게 꼰 베실로 정교하게 짜서 만들어라.
16 그리고 그 짠 천을 두 겹으로 겹쳐서 가로 세로 각각 한 뼘씩 네모 반듯하게 하고
17 그것에 네 줄의 보석을 물려라. 첫째 줄에는 홍옥, 황옥, 녹주석;
18 둘째 줄에는 홍수정, 청옥, 금강석;
19 셋째 줄에는 호박, 백마노, 자수정;
20 넷째 줄에는 감람석, 호마노, 벽옥을 물려라. 너는 이 모든 보석을 다 금테에 물려야 한다.
21 너는 이 열두 보석에 인장 반지를 새기듯이 이스라엘 각 지파를 대표하는 야곱의 열두 아들의 이름을 하나씩 새겨라.
22 그리고 순금으로 노끈처럼 땋은 사슬을 가슴패 위에 붙이되
23 금고리 두 개를 만들어 가슴패 위쪽 양쪽 끝에 달아
24 땋은 그 두 금사슬을 가슴패 윗고리에 연결하고
25 땋은 사슬의 다른 두 끝을 에봇 앞쪽의 두 어깨받이 금테에 매달아라.
26 또 금고리 두 개를 더 만들어 그 고리가 잘 보이지 않도록 가슴패 양쪽 아래 끝 안쪽에 달아라.
27 그리고 다른 금고리 둘을 더 만들어 에봇의 양쪽 옆구리 부분인 허리띠 바로 위에 달고
28 청색 끈으로 가슴패 고리를 에봇 고리에 매어 가슴패가 움직이지 않고 허리띠 위쪽 에봇에 부착되어 있도록 하라.
29 “아론이 성소에 들어갈 때에는 이스라엘 열두 지파의 이름을 새긴 이 판결 가슴패를 붙여 나 여호와가 항상 내 백성을 기억할 수 있게 해야 한다.
30 그리고 너는 [c]우림과 둠밈을 판결 가슴패 주머니 안에 넣어 아론이 내 성소에 들어올 때마다 그것을 휴대하도록 하라. 이와 같이 아론은 이스라엘 백성의 판결할 문제에 대하여 내 뜻을 물어 볼 수 있도록 나 여호와 앞에서 항상 이 판결 가슴패를 달고 있어야 한다.”
제사장의 다른 예복
31 “너는 에봇 속에 받쳐 입는 겉옷을 전부 청색 천으로 만들어라.
32 그 옷은 머리가 들어갈 수 있도록 구멍을 만들고 찢어지지 않게 구멍 둘레를 갑옷 깃처럼 짜야 한다.
33-34 그리고 그 옷자락의 가장자리에 돌아 가며 청색, 자색, 홍색 실로 석류를 만들어 달고 그 사이사이에 금방울을 달아라.
35 아론은 제사장 직무를 수행할 때 이 옷을 입어야 한다. 그가 나 여호와를 섬기려고 성소에 들어올 때와 나갈 때 그 방울 소리가 나면 그가 죽지 않을 것이다.
36 “너는 순금패를 만들어 인장 반지 새기듯이 그 위에 ‘여호와께 성결’ 이라 새기고
37 그 패를 청색 끈으로 관 앞면에 매어라.
38 아론은 이 패를 이마에 부착하여 이스라엘 백성이 거룩한 예물을 드릴 때 잘못한 죄를 담당해야 한다. 이와 같이 아론이 이 패를 항상 이마에 달고 다니면 나 여호와가 그들이 드리는 모든 예물을 받을 것이다.
39 “너는 가는 베실로 긴 속옷과 관을 만들고 띠를 수놓아 만들어라.
40 “너는 또 아론의 아들들에게 속옷과 띠와 관을 만들어 입혀 품위와 아름다움이 풍기게 하라.
41 너는 이 모든 예복을 네 형 아론과 그의 아들들에게 차려 입히고 그들에게 감람기름을 부어 제사장으로 위임하고 거룩하게 하여 나를 섬기게 하라.
42 너는 또 그들에게 허리에서 넓적다리까지 덮이는 모시 속바지를 만들어 입혀 그들의 하체를 가리도록 하라.
43 아론과 그의 아들들이 성막에 들어갈 때에나 제단에 가까이 가서 거룩한 곳에서 섬길 때에 이 속바지를 입어야만 하체를 드러낸 죄로 죽지 않을 것이다. 이것은 아론과 그의 후손이 영구히 지켜야 할 규정이다.”

2 너는 네 형 아론이 입을 영화롭고 아름답게 보이는 거룩한 예복을 지어라. 3 내가 그런 일에 지혜를 준 솜씨 있는 사람들에게 아론의 예복을 짓게 하여라. 그 예복이 아론을 다른 모든 사람과 구별 지을 것이고 그는 제사장으로서 나를 섬길 것이다. 4 그들이 지을 예복은 가슴받이와 에봇과 푸른색 겉옷과 짜서 만든 흰색 겉옷과 두건과 허리띠이다. 그들은 이렇게 네 형 아론과 그의 아들들이 입을 거룩한 옷을 지어 주어 그들이 제사장으로서 나를 섬기게 하여라. 5 그들은 금실과 청색 실과 자주색 실과 진홍색 실과 모시실로 예복을 지어야 한다.
에봇과 허리띠

15 하나님의 뜻을 알아내기 위해 쓸 가슴받이를 솜씨 있게 만들어라. 에봇을 만들 때와 마찬가지로 금실과 청색 실과 자주색 실과 진홍색 실과 가늘게 꼰 모시실을 써서 만들어라. 16 이것은 두 겹으로 접어서 네모나게 만들되 길이가 한 뼘[a], 너비가 한 뼘이 되게 하여라. 17 그리고 그 위에 네 줄로 보석을 박아 넣어라. 첫째 줄에는 루비와 토파즈와 녹주석을 박고 18 둘째 줄에는 터키석과 사파이어와 에메랄드를 박아라. 19 셋째 줄에는 풍신자석과 마노와 자수정을 박고 20 넷째 줄에는 귀감람석과 오닉스와 벽옥을 박아라. 그리고 이 보석들을 모두 금테에 물려라. 21 이렇게 박은 열두 개의 보석은 각기 이스라엘[b]의 열 두 아들을 나타낸다. 각 보석에는 인장에 새기듯이 이스라엘의 열두 가문의 이름을 하나씩 새겨라.
22 가슴받이를 가슴에 매달 사슬을 만들어라. 이 사슬은 순금줄을 줄처럼 꼬아서 만들어라. 23 그리고 가슴받이에 걸 금고리 두 개를 만들어서 가슴받이의 양쪽 끝에 달아라. 24 두 개의 금 사슬을 가슴받이 양쪽에 단 두 고리에 꿰어 매달아라. 25 이 두 금 사슬의 다른 두 끝을 에봇의 앞쪽 어깨걸이에 달린 두 금테에 매달아라. 26 그런 다음 금고리 두 개를 더 만들어서 가슴받이 아래의 양쪽 가장자리 안쪽인 에봇과 겹치는 곳에 달아라. 27 그리고 금고리 두 개를 더 만들어서 에봇의 양쪽 어깨걸이 앞자락 아래, 곧 에봇의 허리띠 바로 위 솔기 가까이에 달아라. 28 그리고 가슴받이의 고리와 에봇의 고리를 청색 실로 꼰 끈으로 단단히 묶어라. 에봇의 허리띠 조금 위에 매어서 가슴받이가 에봇에서 떨어지지 않게 하여라.
29 아론이 성소에 들어갈 때에는 언제나 이스라엘 아들들의 이름이 새겨진 판결 가슴받이를 입어야 한다. 이것을 보고 나 주가 그들을 영원히 기억하게 하여라. 30 또한 우림과 둠밈[c]을 판결 가슴받이[d] 안에 넣어서 아론이 주 앞에 나올 때에는 언제나 그것들이 그의 심장 바로 위에 있게 하여라. 아론이 주 앞에 있을 때에는 언제나 이스라엘 자손의 판결 가슴받이를 심장 바로 위에 입고 있어야 한다.

31 에봇 밑에 입을 겉옷은 오로지 청색 옷감으로만 만들어라. 32 옷 한가운데에 머리가 들어갈 구멍을 만들어라. 그리고 마치 갑옷의 머리 들어갈 구멍 둘레에 천을 덧대듯 그 구멍 가장자리에 천을 덧댄 다음, 단단히 박음질 하여 구멍이 찢어지지 않게 하여라. 마치 갑옷의 머리 들어갈 구멍 둘레에 천을 덧대듯하여 단단히 박음질 하여라. 33 겉옷 단에는 청색 실과 자주색 실과 진홍색 실로 만든 석류 모양의 장식을 빙 둘러서 달아라. 그리고 금으로 방울을 만들어서 석류 장식 사이사이에 달아라. 34 이렇게 하여 겉옷 단에 금방울과 석류 장식이 한 개씩 번갈아 가며 빙 둘러 달려 있게 하여라. 35 아론이 성막에서 제사를 드릴 때 반드시 이 옷을 입어야 한다. 주 앞에 서기 위해 성소로 들어갈 때나 나갈 때는 방울 소리가 들려야 한다. 그래야 그가 죽지 않을 것이다.
36 그리고 순금으로 패를 하나 만들어서 도장을 새기듯이 ‘주께 몸 바친 성직자’라고 새겨라. 37 그런 다음 이 패에 청색 끈을 달아서 패를 두건 위에 달되 패가 두건 앞쪽에 오게 달아라. 38 이것을 아론의 이마에 달게 하여라. 그리하여 이스라엘 자손이 거룩한 예물을 드릴 때에 예물을 잘못 드려 죄를 지으면 그 책임을 아론이 지게 하여라. 그는 언제나 그 패를 이마에 달고 있어야 한다. 그러면 나 주가 그 예물을 기꺼이 받아 주겠다.
39 또 고운 모시실로 바둑판무늬의 두루마기를 짜라. 그리고 고운 모시로 두건을 만들어라. 그리고 예복의 허리띠에는 수를 놓아라.
40 아론의 아들들을 위하여 속옷과 허리띠와 두건을 만들어라. 그렇게 하여 그들이 위엄 있고 영광스럽게 보이게 해 주어라. 41 네 형 아론과 그 아들들에게 그 옷을 입히고 그들에게 기름을 부어 제사장으로 세워라. 그들을 거룩한 사람으로 구별하여 제사장으로서 나를 섬기게 하여라.

The Priestly Garments
28 “Have Aaron(A) your brother brought to you from among the Israelites, along with his sons Nadab and Abihu,(B) Eleazar and Ithamar,(C) so they may serve me as priests.(D) 2 Make sacred garments(E) for your brother Aaron to give him dignity and honor.(F) 3 Tell all the skilled workers(G) to whom I have given wisdom(H) in such matters that they are to make garments for Aaron, for his consecration, so he may serve me as priest. 4 These are the garments they are to make: a breastpiece,(I) an ephod,(J) a robe,(K) a woven tunic,(L) a turban(M) and a sash. They are to make these sacred garments for your brother Aaron and his sons, so they may serve me as priests. 5 Have them use gold, and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and fine linen.(N)
The Ephod(O)
6 “Make the ephod(P) of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen—the work of skilled hands. 7 It is to have two shoulder pieces attached to two of its corners, so it can be fastened. 8 Its skillfully woven waistband(Q) is to be like it—of one piece with the ephod and made with gold, and with blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and with finely twisted linen.
9 “Take two onyx stones and engrave(R) on them the names of the sons of Israel 10 in the order of their birth—six names on one stone and the remaining six on the other. 11 Engrave the names of the sons of Israel on the two stones the way a gem cutter engraves a seal. Then mount the stones in gold filigree settings 12 and fasten them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel. Aaron is to bear the names on his shoulders(S) as a memorial(T) before the Lord. 13 Make gold filigree settings 14 and two braided chains of pure gold, like a rope, and attach the chains to the settings.
The Breastpiece(U)
15 “Fashion a breastpiece(V) for making decisions—the work of skilled hands. Make it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen. 16 It is to be square—a span[a] long and a span wide—and folded double. 17 Then mount four rows of precious stones(W) on it. The first row shall be carnelian, chrysolite(X) and beryl; 18 the second row shall be turquoise, lapis lazuli and emerald; 19 the third row shall be jacinth, agate and amethyst; 20 the fourth row shall be topaz, onyx and jasper.[b] Mount them in gold filigree settings. 21 There are to be twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel,(Y) each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.(Z)
22 “For the breastpiece make braided chains of pure gold, like a rope. 23 Make two gold rings for it and fasten them to two corners of the breastpiece. 24 Fasten the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece, 25 and the other ends of the chains to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front. 26 Make two gold rings and attach them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod. 27 Make two more gold rings and attach them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod. 28 The rings of the breastpiece are to be tied to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband, so that the breastpiece will not swing out from the ephod.
29 “Whenever Aaron enters the Holy Place,(AA) he will bear the names of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breastpiece of decision as a continuing memorial before the Lord. 30 Also put the Urim and the Thummim(AB) in the breastpiece, so they may be over Aaron’s heart whenever he enters the presence of the Lord. Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the Lord.
Other Priestly Garments(AC)
31 “Make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth, 32 with an opening for the head in its center. There shall be a woven edge like a collar[c] around this opening, so that it will not tear. 33 Make pomegranates(AD) of blue, purple and scarlet yarn around the hem of the robe, with gold bells between them. 34 The gold bells and the pomegranates are to alternate around the hem of the robe. 35 Aaron must wear it when he ministers. The sound of the bells will be heard when he enters the Holy Place before the Lord and when he comes out, so that he will not die.
36 “Make a plate(AE) of pure gold and engrave on it as on a seal: holy to the Lord.(AF) 37 Fasten a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban; it is to be on the front of the turban. 38 It will be on Aaron’s forehead, and he will bear the guilt(AG) involved in the sacred gifts the Israelites consecrate, whatever their gifts may be. It will be on Aaron’s forehead continually so that they will be acceptable(AH) to the Lord.
39 “Weave the tunic(AI) of fine linen and make the turban(AJ) of fine linen. The sash is to be the work of an embroiderer. 40 Make tunics, sashes and caps for Aaron’s sons(AK) to give them dignity and honor.(AL) 41 After you put these clothes(AM) on your brother Aaron and his sons, anoint(AN) and ordain them. Consecrate them so they may serve me as priests.(AO)
42 “Make linen undergarments(AP) as a covering for the body, reaching from the waist to the thigh. 43 Aaron and his sons must wear them whenever they enter the tent of meeting(AQ) or approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place,(AR) so that they will not incur guilt and die.(AS)
“This is to be a lasting ordinance(AT) for Aaron and his descendants.

Garments for the Priesthood(A)

So they shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother and his sons, that he may minister to Me as priest.
The Ephod
5 “They shall take the gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and the fine linen, 6 (N)and they shall make the ephod of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, artistically worked. 7 It shall have two shoulder straps joined at its two edges, and so it shall be joined together. 8 And the [c]intricately woven band of the ephod, which is on it, shall be of the same workmanship, made of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen.
9 “Then you shall take two onyx (O)stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel: 10 six of their names on one stone and six names on the other stone, in order of their (P)birth. 11 With the work of an (Q)engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, you shall engrave the two stones with the names of the sons of Israel. You shall set them in settings of gold. 12 And you shall put the two stones on the shoulders of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel. So (R)Aaron shall bear their names before the Lord on his two shoulders (S)as a memorial. 13 You shall also make settings of gold, 14 and you shall make two chains of pure gold like braided cords, and fasten the braided chains to the settings.
The Breastplate(T)
15 (U)“You shall make the breastplate of judgment. Artistically woven according to the workmanship of the ephod you shall make it: of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, you shall make it. 16 It shall be doubled into a square: a span shall be its length, and a span shall be its width. 17 (V)And you shall put settings of stones in it, four rows of stones: The first row shall be a [d]sardius, a topaz, and an emerald; this shall be the first row; 18 the second row shall be a turquoise, a sapphire, and a diamond; 19 the third row, a [e]jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst; 20 and the fourth row, a [f]beryl, an [g]onyx, and a jasper. They shall be set in gold settings. 21 And the stones shall have the names of the sons of Israel, twelve according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, each one with its own name; they shall be according to the twelve tribes.
22 “You shall make chains for the breastplate at the end, like braided cords of pure gold. 23 And you shall make two rings of gold for the breastplate, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate. 24 Then you shall put the two braided chains of gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the breastplate; 25 and the other two ends of the two braided chains you shall fasten to the two settings, and put them on the shoulder straps of the ephod in the front.
26 “You shall make two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on the edge of it, which is on the inner side of the ephod. 27 And two other rings of gold you shall make, and put them on the two shoulder straps, underneath the ephod toward its front, right at the seam above the [h]intricately woven band of the ephod. 28 They shall bind the breastplate by means of its rings to the rings of the ephod, using a blue cord, so that it is above the intricately woven band of the ephod, and so that the breastplate does not come loose from the ephod.
29 “So Aaron shall (W)bear the names of the sons of Israel on the breastplate of judgment over his heart, when he goes into the holy place, as a memorial before the Lord continually. 30 And (X)you shall put in the breastplate of judgment the [i]Urim and the Thummim, and they shall be over Aaron’s heart when he goes in before the Lord. So Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel over his heart before the Lord continually.
Other Priestly Garments(Y)
31 (Z)“You shall make the robe of the ephod all of blue. 32 There shall be an opening for his head in the middle of it; it shall have a woven binding all around its opening, like the opening in a coat of mail, so that it does not tear. 33 And upon its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet, all around its hem, and bells of gold between them all around: 34 a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe all around. 35 And it shall be upon Aaron when he ministers, and its sound will be heard when he goes into the holy place before the Lord and when he comes out, that he may not die.
36 (AA)“You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet:
HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
37 And you shall put it on a blue cord, that it may be on the turban; it shall be on the front of the turban. 38 So it shall be on Aaron’s forehead, that Aaron may (AB)bear the iniquity of the holy things which the children of Israel hallow in all their [j]holy gifts; and it shall always be on his forehead, that they may be (AC)accepted before the Lord.
39 “You shall (AD)skillfully weave the tunic of fine linen thread, you shall make the turban of fine linen, and you shall make the sash of woven work.
40 (AE)“For Aaron’s sons you shall make tunics, and you shall make sashes for them. And you shall make [k]hats for them, for glory and (AF)beauty. 41 So you shall put them on Aaron your brother and on his sons with him. You shall (AG)anoint them, (AH)consecrate them, and [l]sanctify them, that they may minister to Me as priests. 42 And you shall make (AI)for them linen trousers to cover their [m]nakedness; they shall [n]reach from the waist to the thighs. 43 They shall be on Aaron and on his sons when they come into the tabernacle of meeting, or when they come near (AJ)the altar to minister in the holy place, that they (AK)do not incur [o]iniquity and die. (AL)It shall be a statute forever to him and his descendants after him.

28 And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.
2 And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.
3 And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
4 And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
5 And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen.
6 And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work.
7 It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it shall be joined together.
8 And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
9 And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the children of Israel:
10 Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth.
11 With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel: thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold.
12 And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the Lord upon his two shoulders for a memorial.
13 And thou shalt make ouches of gold;
14 And two chains of pure gold at the ends; of wreathen work shalt thou make them, and fasten the wreathen chains to the ouches.
15 And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it.
16 Foursquare it shall be being doubled; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof.
17 And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row.
18 And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
19 And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.
20 And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be set in gold in their inclosings.
21 And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes.
22 And thou shalt make upon the breastplate chains at the ends of wreathen work of pure gold.
23 And thou shalt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, and shalt put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.
24 And thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the breastplate.
25 And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt fasten in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod before it.
26 And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and thou shalt put them upon the two ends of the breastplate in the border thereof, which is in the side of the ephod inward.
27 And two other rings of gold thou shalt make, and shalt put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart thereof, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.
28 And they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod.
29 And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the Lord continually.
30 And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the Lord: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the Lord continually.
31 And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.
32 And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent.
33 And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about:
34 A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about.
35 And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the Lord, and when he cometh out, that he die not.
36 And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, Holiness To The Lord.
37 And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.
38 And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the Lord.
39 And thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou shalt make the mitre of fine linen, and thou shalt make the girdle of needlework.
40 And for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty.
41 And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.
42 And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:
43 And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him.
