아브람과 롯이 헤어지다
13 아브람은 자기 아내와 조카 롯과 함께 모든 소유를 이끌고 이집트를 떠나 가 나안 남쪽 네겝 지방으로 올라갔는데
2 그에게는 가축과 은금이 풍부하였다.
3-4 거기서 그는 계속 북쪽으로 올라가 벧엘 과 아이 사이, 곧 전에 그가 천막을 치고 단을 쌓은 곳에 이르러 거기서 여호와께 경배하였다.
5 롯에게도 소와 양과 [a]종들이 있었다.
6 아브람과 롯에게 가축이 너무 많아 그들이 함께 살기에는 그 땅의 목초지가 부족하였다.
7 그래서 아브람의 목자들과 롯의 목자들이 서로 다투었으며 게다가 가나안 사람과 브리스 사람도 그 땅에 살고 있었다.
8 그때 아브람이 롯에게 말하였다. “우리는 한 친척이다. 나와 너, 그리고 내 목자와 네 목자끼리 서로 다투지 말자.
9 네 앞에 온 땅이 있지 않느냐? 자, 서로 갈라서자. 네가 원하는 땅을 택하라. 네가 동쪽으로 가면 나는 서쪽으로 가고 네가 서쪽으로 가면 나는 동쪽으로 가겠다.”
10 롯이 요단강 유역을 바라보니 소알까지 온 땅에 물이 넉넉하였다. 이 때는 아직 여호와께서 소돔과 고모라를 멸망시키시기 전이었으므로 그 땅이 마치 [b]에덴 동산 같고 이집트의 비옥한 땅과 같았다.
11 그래서 롯이 요단강 유역을 택하고 동쪽으로 옮기자 그들은 서로 갈라서게 되었다.
12 아브람은 가나안 땅에 머물렀고 롯은 요단강 유역에 정착하여 소돔 근처에 천막을 쳤는데
13 소돔 사람들은 대단히 악하여 여호와께 크게 범죄하였다.
14 롯이 아브람을 떠난 후에 여호와께서 아브람에게 말씀하셨다. “너는 네가 있는 곳에서 동서남북을 바라보아라.
15 보이는 땅을 너와 네 후손에게 영원히 주겠다.
16 내가 네 후손을 땅의 티끌처럼 많게 할 것이니 사람이 땅의 티끌을 셀 수 있다면 네 후손도 셀 수 있을 것이다.
17 이제 너는 일어나 이리저리 다니며 그 땅 을 사방 살펴보아라. 내가 그것을 너에게 주겠다.”
18 그래서 아브람은 천막을 옮겨 헤브론의 마므레 상수리 숲 근처에 가서 정착하고 거기서 여호와께 단을 쌓았다.

13 亚伯兰带着妻子、侄儿罗得和所有的一切离开埃及去南地。 2 这时候亚伯兰已经拥有很多牲畜和金银。 3-4 他从南地渐渐迁移到伯特利，到了他从前在伯特利和艾中间搭帐篷和筑坛的地方。他又在那里求告耶和华。 5 和亚伯兰同行的罗得也有牛群、羊群和帐篷。 6 他们的牲畜很多，那地方容纳不下，他们无法住在一起。 7 亚伯兰的牧人和罗得的牧人彼此争执。那时，迦南人和比利洗人也住在那里。
8 亚伯兰对罗得说：“我们不该彼此争执，我们的牧人也不该互相争执，因为我们是骨肉至亲。 9 整片土地不就在你面前吗？我们分开吧。如果你往左边去，我就往右边走；如果你往右边去，我就往左边走。” 10 罗得举目眺望，看见整个约旦河平原，远至琐珥，水源充足。在耶和华还没有毁灭所多玛和蛾摩拉之前，那地方就好像耶和华的伊甸园，又像埃及。 11 于是，罗得选了整个约旦河平原，向东迁移，他们便分开了。 12 亚伯兰住在迦南，罗得则住在平原的城邑里，并渐渐把帐篷迁移到所多玛附近。 13 所多玛人极其邪恶，在耶和华眼中罪恶滔天。
14 罗得离开后，耶和华对亚伯兰说：“从你站的地方向东西南北眺望， 15 你所能看见的地方，我都要赐给你和你的后代，直到永远。 16 我要使你的后代多如地上的尘土，人若能数算地上的尘土，才能数算你的后代。 17 你起来走遍这片土地，因为我要把这片土地赐给你。” 18 亚伯兰就把帐篷迁移到希伯仑 幔利的橡树那里居住，在那里为耶和华筑了一座祭坛。

Abram and Lot Separate
13 So Abram went up from Egypt(A) to the Negev,(B) with his wife and everything he had, and Lot(C) went with him. 2 Abram had become very wealthy(D) in livestock(E) and in silver and gold.
3 From the Negev(F) he went from place to place until he came to Bethel,(G) to the place between Bethel and Ai(H) where his tent had been earlier 4 and where he had first built an altar.(I) There Abram called on the name of the Lord.(J)
5 Now Lot,(K) who was moving about with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents. 6 But the land could not support them while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together.(L) 7 And quarreling(M) arose between Abram’s herders and Lot’s. The Canaanites(N) and Perizzites(O) were also living in the land(P) at that time.
8 So Abram said to Lot,(Q) “Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me,(R) or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives.(S) 9 Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.”(T)
10 Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain(U) of the Jordan toward Zoar(V) was well watered, like the garden of the Lord,(W) like the land of Egypt.(X) (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom(Y) and Gomorrah.)(Z) 11 So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company: 12 Abram lived in the land of Canaan,(AA) while Lot(AB) lived among the cities of the plain(AC) and pitched his tents near Sodom.(AD) 13 Now the people of Sodom(AE) were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord.(AF)
14 The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west.(AG) 15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring[a] forever.(AH) 16 I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.(AI) 17 Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land,(AJ) for I am giving it to you.”(AK)
18 So Abram went to live near the great trees of Mamre(AL) at Hebron,(AM) where he pitched his tents. There he built an altar to the Lord.(AN)
