간음에 대한 경고
5 내 아들아, 내가 지혜와 통찰력으로 가르치는 말을 잘 귀담아 듣고
2 모든 일을 신중하게 하며 네 말에 지식이 깃들여 있음을 보여 주어라.
3 방탕한 여인의 입술은 꿀보다 달고 그 입은 기름보다 더 미끄러우나
4 나중에는 쓰라림과 고통만을 남겨 줄 뿐이다.
5 그런 여자는 지옥을 향해 죽음의 길을 치닫고 있으면서도
6 생명의 길을 생각하지 못하며 자기 길이 비뚤어져도 그것을 깨닫지 못한다.
7 내 아들들아, 이제 너희는 내 말을 잘 듣고 잊지 말며
8 그런 여자를 멀리하고 그녀의 집 문에도 가까이 가지 말아라.
9 그렇지 않으면 한때 네가 누리던 영예를 다른 사람에게 빼앗기게 되고 너는 난폭한 자들의 손에 죽음을 당할 것이며
10 낯선 사람들이 네 재물로 배를 채우고 네 수고한 것이 다른 사람의 집으로 갈 것이다.
11 그럴 경우 결국 네 육체는 병들어 못 쓰게 되고 너는 이렇게 탄식하게 될 것이다.
12 “내가 왜 훈계를 싫어하며 어째서 내 마음이 꾸지람을 가볍게 여겼는가?
13 내가 내 스승의 말을 듣지 않았고 나를 가르치는 사람에게 귀를 기울이지 않았더니
14 이제 많은 사람들 앞에서 수치를 당하게 되었구나.”
15 너는 [a]네 아내에게 성실하고 그녀만 사랑하여라.
16 네가 다른 여인에게 정을 주어 자식을 낳게 할 이유가 무엇이냐?
17 너는 네 자녀를 얻는 복을 다른 사람과 나누지 못하게 하라.
18 [b]네가 젊어서 얻은 아내를 행복하게 하고 그녀와 함께 즐거워하라.
19 너는 암사슴처럼 그녀를 사랑스럽고 아름답게 여겨 그 품을 항상 만족하게 여기며 그녀의 사랑을 항상 연모하라.
20 내 아들아, 네가 무엇 때문에 음란한 여자에게 정을 주어야 하며 남의 아내 가슴을 안아야 하겠느냐?
21 여호와께서는 사람이 하는 일을 다 지켜 보시므로 네가 무엇을 하든지 다 알고 계신다.
22 악인은 자기 악에 스스로 걸려 넘어지며 자기 죄의 줄에 자기가 매인다.
23 그는 진리의 교훈을 듣지 않으므로 죽을 것이며 너무 어리석은 탓으로 길을 잃고 방황할 것이다.

The Peril of Adultery
5 My son, pay attention to my wisdom;
[a]Lend your ear to my understanding,
2 That you may [b]preserve discretion,
And your lips (A)may keep knowledge.
3 (B)For the lips of [c]an immoral woman drip honey,
And her mouth is (C)smoother than oil;
4 But in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two-edged sword.
5 Her feet go down to death,
(D)Her steps lay hold of [d]hell.
6 Lest you ponder her path of life—
Her ways are unstable;
You do not know them.
7 Therefore hear me now, my children,
And do not depart from the words of my mouth.
8 Remove your way far from her,
And do not go near the door of her house,
9 Lest you give your [e]honor to others,
And your years to the cruel one;
10 Lest aliens be filled with your [f]wealth,
And your labors go to the house of a foreigner;
11 And you mourn at last,
When your flesh and your body are consumed,
12 And say:
“How I have hated instruction,
And my heart despised correction!
13 I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers,
Nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!
14 I was on the verge of total ruin,
In the midst of the assembly and congregation.”
15 Drink water from your own cistern,
And running water from your own well.
16 Should your fountains be dispersed abroad,
[g]Streams of water in the streets?
17 Let them be only your own,
And not for strangers with you.
18 Let your fountain be blessed,
And rejoice with (E)the wife of your youth.
19 (F)As a loving deer and a graceful doe,
Let her breasts satisfy you at all times;
And always be [h]enraptured with her love.
20 For why should you, my son, be enraptured by (G)an immoral woman,
And be embraced in the arms of a seductress?
21 (H)For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord,
And He [i]ponders all his paths.
22 (I)His own iniquities entrap the wicked man,
And he is caught in the cords of his sin.
23 (J)He shall die for lack of instruction,
And in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

远避淫乱
5 孩子啊，要留心听我的智言，
侧耳听我的慧语，
2 好保持明辨力，
嘴唇谨守知识。
3 淫妇满口甜言蜜语，
油嘴滑舌，
4 最后却苦如艾草，
锋利似双刃剑。
5 她的双脚走进死地，
她的步伐迈向阴间。
6 她不走生命的康庄大道，
偏离了正途也不自知。
7 孩子们啊，要听从我，
不可违背我的话！
8 要远远避开淫妇，
不可靠近她的家门，
9 免得你为别人枉费精力，
为残忍之徒断送青春；
10 免得外人吞尽你的财富，
你的辛劳所得归给他人。
11 临终之时，肉体衰残，
你必呻吟不止，
12 说：“我为何厌恶教诲，
心里藐视责备！
13 不听从老师的话，
不侧耳听导师之言。
14 在众人面前，
我几乎身败名裂。”
15 你当喝自己池中的水，
饮自己井里的活水。
16 你的泉水岂可外流？
你的河水怎可溢到街上？
17 这些要专属于你，
不可与外人共享。
18 要使你的泉源蒙福，
要爱你年轻时所娶的妻。
19 她高贵可爱宛如母鹿，
愿她的胸令你时时满足，
愿她的爱令你常常陶醉。
20 孩子啊，为何迷恋淫妇？
为何拥抱妓女的胸？
21 因为人的所作所为逃不过耶和华的眼目，
祂必鉴察人走的一切路。
22 恶人被自己的罪恶捉住，
被自己的罪恶捆绑。
23 他因不听教诲而丧命，
因极其愚妄而入歧途。
