잠언 15

15 부드러운 대답은 분노를 가라앉히지만
거친 말은 노여움을 일으킨다.
2 지혜로운 사람의 혀는 사람들의 지식을 넓혀 주지만
미련한 사람의 입은 어리석음만 쏟아낸다.
3 주님의 눈길 어디나 계시니
악한 사람 선한 사람 모두를 지켜보신다.
4 따뜻한 말은 생명의 나무와 같지만
거짓된 혀는 마음을 상하게 한다.
5 어리석은 사람은 아버지의 가르침을 귀찮아하지만
아버지의 책망을 귀담아 듣는 사람은 슬기로워진다.
6 의로운 사람의 집에는 보물이 쌓이지만
악한 사람의 소득에는 고통이 따른다.
7 지혜로운 사람의 입술은 지식을 널리 전하지만
미련한 자의 마음은 그렇지 않다.
8 악한 자의 제사는 주께서 혐오하시지만
올바른 사람의 기도는 기뻐하신다.
9 악한 자의 길은 주께서 혐오하셔도
의를 따라 사는 사람은 사랑하신다.
10 생명의 길을 떠나는 사람은 엄한 징계를 받고
책망을 싫어하면 죽음에 이른다.
11 저승도 파멸의 나라[a]도 주님이 훤히 보고 계시는데
사람의 마음은 더욱 그러하지 않겠는가?
12 빈정꾼은 책망 받기를 싫어하여
지혜로운 사람을 가까이하지 않는다.
13 마음이 즐거우면 얼굴이 밝아지지만
마음에 근심이 있으면 영혼이 상한다.
14 올바른 판단력을 가진 현명한 사람의 마음은 지식을 찾지만
미련한 사람의 입은 어리석음을 즐긴다.
15 가난한 사람에게는 모든 날이 힘겹지만
마음이 즐거운 사람은 언제나 잔칫날이다.
16 가난하지만 주님을 두려워하며 사는 것이
많은 재산을 가지고 다투며 사는 것보다 낫다.
17 서로 미워하며 고기를 먹고 사는 것보다
서로 사랑하며 채소를 먹고 사는 것이 낫다.
18 성급한 사람은 다툼을 일으키지만
화를 더디 내는 사람은 다툼을 그치게 한다.
19 게으른 사람의 길은 가시덤불과 같지만
의로운 사람의 길은 잘 닦인 고속도로와 같다.
20 지혜로운 아들은 자기 아버지를 기쁘게 하지만
미련한 사람은 자기 어머니를 업신여긴다.
21 생각이 모자라는 사람은 어리석은 일을 즐기지만
슬기로운 사람은 옳은 길을 곧바로 걸어간다.
22 의논이 없으면 계획이 실패하나
많은 사람들의 의견을 들어 세운 계획은 성공한다.
23 지혜로운 대답은 사람을 기쁘게 하니
제때에 적절한 말을 하는 것이 얼마나 귀한가!
24 생명의 길은 슬기로운 사람을 위해 위쪽으로 나 있어
저 아래에 있는 저승의 길로 가지 않게 한다.
25 주께서 교만한 자의 집은 허물어 버리시지만
과부가 사는 집의 경계선은 튼튼히 지켜 주신다.
26 주께서 악한 계획은 미워하시지만
친절한 말은 기뻐하신다.
27 지나치게 이익만을 탐하는 사람은 자기 집을 망하게 하지만
뇌물을 미워하는 사람은 잘 살게 된다.
28 의로운 사람은 깊이 생각하고 대답하지만
악한 자의 입은 생각 없이 악한 말만 쏟아낸다.
29 주님은 악한 자를 멀리하시지만
의로운 사람의 기도는 들어주신다.
30 밝은 모습은 마음을 기쁘게 하고
좋은 소식은 몸에 생기를 준다.
31 자기에게 득이 되는 책망을 들을 줄 아는 귀가 있는 사람은
지혜로운 사람들 가운데 산다.
32 가르침을 무시하는 사람은 자기 생명을 미워하는 사람이지만
책망을 귀담아 듣는 사람은 올바른 판단력을 얻는다.
33 주님을 두려워하는 것이 지혜의 가르침이며
먼저 겸손해야 영광을 얻는다.

追求公义为 神所爱
15 柔和的回答使烈怒消退，
暴戾的话激动怒气。
2 智慧人的舌头阐扬知识；
愚昧人的口发出愚妄。
3 耶和华的眼目无所不在；
坏人好人他都鉴察。
4 说安慰话的舌头是生命树；
奸恶的舌头使人心碎。
5 愚妄人藐视父亲的管教；
看重责备的是精明的人。
6 义人家中财宝丰富；
恶人的收入却带来扰害。
7 智慧人的嘴唇散播知识；
愚昧人的心并不是这样。
8 恶人的祭物是耶和华厌恶的；
正直人的祷告却是他所喜悦的。
9 恶人的道路是耶和华厌恶的；
追求公义的人却是他所爱的。
10 离弃正路的必受严厉的管教；
恨恶责备的必致死亡。
11 阴间和灭亡展露在耶和华面前，
何况世人的心呢？
12 好讥笑人的不喜爱责备他的人，
也不到智慧人那里去。
13 喜乐的心使人脸上容光焕发；
心中愁苦使人精神颓丧。
14 聪明人的心寻求知识，
愚昧人的口只吃愚妄。
15 困苦人的日子尽是艰难；
心中畅快的好象常享丰筵。
16 财物虽少而敬畏耶和华，
胜过财物丰富却烦恼不安。
17 吃素菜而彼此相爱，
胜过吃肥牛却彼此憎恨。
18 脾气暴烈的人常引起纷争；
不轻易动怒的可平息争执。
19 懒惰人的道路好象荆棘篱笆；
正直人的路径是平坦的大道。
20 智慧的儿子使父亲快乐；
愚昧人却藐视自己的母亲。
21 无知的人以愚妄为乐；
聪明人却行事正直。
22 不经商议，计划必定失败；
谋士众多，计划就可成功。
23 应对得当，自己也觉喜乐；
合时的话，多么美好！
24 生命之路领明慧人向上，
因此他可以离开在下面的阴间。
25 耶和华必拆毁骄傲人的家，
却要立定寡妇的地界。
26 邪恶的思想是耶和华厌恶的；
恩慈的话却是纯净的。
27 贪爱不义之财的祸害自己的家；
恨恶贿赂的必可以存活。
28 义人的心思想怎样回答；
恶人的口发出恶言。
29 耶和华远离恶人，
却垂听义人的祷告。
30 眼中的光采使人心快乐；
好消息使骨头滋润。
31 听从有关生命之责备的，
必住在智慧人中间。
32 轻忽管教的是藐视自己；
听从责备的却得着智慧（“智慧”原文作“心”）。
33 敬畏耶和华是智慧的教训；
尊荣以先，必有谦卑。

15 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
5 A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
11 Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.
17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
21 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
29 The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
