유다의 5대 왕 여호람
21 여호사밧은 죽어 다윗성에 있는 그 조상들의 묘에 장사되었고 그의 아 들 여호람이 왕위를 계승하였다.
2 여호람은 형제가 여섯이었는데 그들은 아사랴, 여히엘, 스가랴, 아사랴후, 미가엘, 스바댜였다.
3 여호사밧왕은 자기 아들들에게 금은 보물과 유다의 요새 성들을 선물로 주었으나 여호람은 장남이기 때문에 그에게는 왕위를 물려 주었다.
4 그러나 여호람이 왕위에 올라 세력을 굳히자 그는 자기 동생들을 모두 죽이고 또 몇몇 이스라엘 지도자들도 죽였다.
5 여호람은 32세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 8년을 통치하였다.
6 그는 아합의 딸과 결혼하였으므로 이스라엘 왕들을 본받아 아합의 집안 사람들처럼 악을 행하고 여호와께 범죄하였다.
7 그러나 여호와께서 다윗의 집안을 멸망시키려고 하지 않았던 것은 다윗에게 [a]그 후손들이 계속 나라를 다스리게 해 주겠다고 약속하셨기 때문이었다.
8 여호람이 왕으로 있을 당시 에돔이 유다를 반역하여 자기들의 왕을 세웠다.
9 그래서 여호람은 모든 전차를 동원하여 병력을 이끌고 에돔을 치러 갔으나 즉시 에돔군에게 포위를 당하고 말았다. 그래서 그들은 야음을 틈타서 간신히 그 포위망을 빠져나왔다.
10 이때부터 에돔은 유다의 속박에서 벗어나 완전 독립국이 되었다. 그리고 이 때에 립나성도 반란을 일으켜 유다의 통치에서 벗어났는데 이런 일이 일어나게 된 것은 여호람이 그 조상의 하나님 여호와를 저버렸기 때문이었다.
11 여호람은 또 유다의 여러 산에 산당을 세우고 유다와 예루살렘 사람들에게 우상을 섬기게 하여 여호와께 범죄하도록 하였다.
12 이때 예언자 엘리야가 여호람에게 이런 편지를 보냈다. “왕의 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘네가 네 아버지 여호사밧이나 유다의 아사왕을 본받지 않고
13 이스라엘 왕들의 악한 행실을 본받아 아합의 집안 사람들처럼 유다와 예루살렘 백성에게 우상을 섬기게 하였으며 또 너보다 선한 너의 동생들을 모조리 죽였다.
14 그러므로 나 여호와가 이제 네 백성과 네 처자들과 네가 소유한 모든 것에 무서운 재앙을 내리겠다.
15 그리고 너는 창자에 고질병이 생겨 고생할 것이며 그 병은 악화되어 결국 네 창자가 빠져나오고 말 것이다.’ ”
16 여호와께서는 블레셋 사람과 그리고 [b]에티오피아에 가까이 사는 아라비아 사람들의 마음을 충동하여 여호람을 치게 하셨다.
17 그들은 유다를 침략하여 궁전을 약탈하고 막내 아들 아하시야를 제외한 왕의 아들들과 아내들을 모조리 생포해 갔다.
18 그런 일이 있은 후에 여호와께서는 여호람을 벌하셔서 그의 창자에 고칠 수 없는 병이 들게 하셨다.
19 그래서 여호람은 고생하다가 병든 지 2년 만에 창자가 빠져나와 결국 죽고 말았다. 그러나 백성들은 왕들이 죽을 때 늘 피우던 애도의 향불을 이번에는 피우지 않았다.
20 여호람은 32세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 8년을 통치하다가 죽었는데 아무도 그의 죽음을 슬퍼하는 자가 없었다. 그는 다윗성에 묻히긴 했으나 왕들의 묘에는 장사되지 못하였다.

King James Version
21 Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
2 And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3 And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn.
4 Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.
5 Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord.
7 Howbeit the Lord would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
8 In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king.
9 Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots.
10 So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the Lord God of his fathers.
11 Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.
12 And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13 But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, which were better than thyself:
14 Behold, with a great plague will the Lord smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:
15 And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.
16 Moreover the Lord stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:
17 And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18 And after all this the Lord smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19 And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
20 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.

21 Dormivit autem Josaphat cum patribus suis, et sepultus est cum eis in civitate David: regnavitque Joram filius ejus pro eo.
2 Qui habuit fratres filios Josaphat, Azariam, et Jahiel, et Zachariam, et Azariam, et Michael, et Saphatiam: omnes hi filii Josaphat regis Juda.
3 Deditque eis pater suus multa munera argenti et auri, et pensitationes, cum civitatibus munitissimis in Juda: regnum autem tradidit Joram, eo quod esset primogenitus.
4 Surrexit ergo Joram super regnum patris sui: cumque se confirmasset, occidit omnes fratres suos gladio, et quosdam de principibus Israel.
5 Triginta duorum annorum erat Joram cum regnare coepisset, et octo annis regnavit in Jerusalem.
6 Ambulavitque in viis regum Israel, sicut egerat domus Achab: filia quippe Achab erat uxor ejus: et fecit malum in conspectu Domini.
7 Noluit autem Dominus disperdere domum David propter pactum quod inierat cum eo: et quia promiserat ut daret ei lucernam, et filiis ejus omni tempore.
8 In diebus illis rebellavit Edom, ne esset subditus Judae, et constituit sibi regem.
9 Cumque transisset Joram cum principibus suis, et cuncto equitatu qui erat secum, surrexit nocte, et percussit Edom, qui se circumdederat, et omnes duces equitatus ejus.
10 Attamen rebellavit Edom, ne esset sub ditione Juda usque ad hanc diem: eo tempore et Lobna recessit ne esset sub manu illius. Dereliquerat enim Dominum Deum patrum suorum:
11 insuper et excelsa fabricatus est in urbibus Juda, et fornicari fecit habitatores Jerusalem, et praevaricari Judam.
12 Allatae sunt autem ei litterae ab Elia propheta, in quibus scriptum erat: Haec dicit Dominus Deus David patris tui: Quoniam non ambulasti in viis Josaphat patris tui, et in viis Asa regis Juda,
13 sed incessisti per iter regum Israel, et fornicari fecisti Judam et habitatores Jerusalem, imitatus fornicationem domus Achab, insuper et fratres tuos, domum patris tui, meliores te, occidisti:
14 ecce Dominus percutiet te plaga magna cum populo tuo, et filiis, et uxoribus tuis, universaque substantia tua.
15 Tu autem aegrotabis pessimo languore uteri tui, donec egrediantur vitalia tua paulatim per singulos dies.
16 Suscitavit ergo Dominus contra Joram spiritum Philisthinorum, et Arabum qui confines sunt AEthiopibus:
17 et ascenderunt in terram Juda, et vastaverunt eam, diripueruntque cunctam substantiam quae inventa est in domo regis, insuper et filios ejus, et uxores: nec remansit ei filius, nisi Joachaz, qui minimus natu erat.
18 Et super haec omnia percussit eum Dominus alvi languore insanabili.
19 Cumque diei succederet dies, et temporum spatia volverentur, duorum annorum expletus est circulus: et sic longa consumptus tabe, ita ut egereret etiam viscera sua, languore pariter, et vita caruit. Mortuusque est in infirmitate pessima, et non fecit ei populus secundum morem combustionis exequias, sicut fecerat majoribus ejus.
20 Triginta duorum annorum fuit cum regnare coepisset, et octo annis regnavit in Jerusalem. Ambulavitque non recte, et sepelierunt eum in civitate David, verumtamen non in sepulchro regum.
